List Mgmt. What Happens To Our Young Players If We Are Not in the SANFL in 2020

Ports, I believe. Saw a list of which jumpers were worn somewhere a few days ago. Some teams settled on one, others alternated.
Wasn't West Torrens born because a bunch of our players needed a game?

Yes. Port Natives. Then in 1990 WWT was born because another bunch of West Torrens players needed a game.

Imagine merging as junior partner to Woodville. Those books are probably buried so deep not even Gerard Croiset could convince some local idiots to dig for them.

Our reserves beat the crows. (No Prison Bars were worn)

Goals: Westhoff 4, Ebert, Burgoyne, Williams, Ladhams, Lienert

Best: Mayes, Bonner, Westhoff, Lienert, Ebert, Ladhams

Apparently we're sending 12 players up to Queensland for a scratch match, not sure against which team(s). Understandable during the season, but interesting to see the collegiate approach being continued amongst the finals contenders.

I like that the club got on the front foot here and said the AFL needs to lift their game as all other teams in the Qld hub can have scratch matches yet we cant. Good to see the AFL quickly got something organised.

I hope their is a way we can watch this... keen to see Georgie and Westie and if they will put Marshall under big pressure.

Richmond, Geelong and Port players.

I wonder which 4 are missing out. We've got 16 players outside the 22. (Maybe Drew and Georgiades could be 2 of them).

F: Williams - Georgiades - Burgoyne
HF: Woodcock - Westhoff - Farrell
C: ? - Drew - Mayes
HB: Bonner - Lienert - Bergman
B: ? - Pasini - Garner
R: Hayes - Sutcliffe - Mead

"Westhoff was teammates in Saturday’s trial game with overlooked Richmond premiership players such as Josh Caddy and Nathan Broad.

Port Adelaide’s travelling group to Queensland also included Mitch Georgiades, Riley Bonner, Boyd Woodcock, Jarrod Lienert, Miles Bergman, Kane Farrell, Joel Garner, Sam Hayes, Sam Mayes, Jake Pasini and Cam Sutcliffe.

Willem Drew, Trent Burgoyne, Dylan Williams and Jackson Mead have stayed in Adelaide."

According to a couple of media outlets, they boys flew back in Chris Hemsworths private jet.

Luxury.

They didn’t say
The Age had this in story last night, it doesn't say why, but it is a plane that Liam, not Chris, regularly charters when he flies around Oz from his Byron Bay base. So Port appears to have chartered the same plane he charters, not owns.

Snap Shot is a weekly column taking a look at the lighter side of football.

Snapshot loves making a Hollywood connection to the AFL as much as anyone but sometimes you just stumble on one without even trying.

This time it happened at the three-way practice match on the Gold Coast on Saturday involving a mixture of Geelong, Richmond and Port Adelaide players when Liam Hemsworth, star of multiple films including The Hunger Games and The Dressmaker, became the subject of conversation. It all started after a dozen Port Adelaide players and assistant coach Matthew Lokan arrived on the Gold Coast on the same plane as the Cats and AFL officials returning from the qualifying final to play in a practice match to stay fit in case they earned a recall for the preliminary final.

Veteran pair Justin Westhoff and Sam Mayes pulled on Richmond jumpers while Port youngsters Riley Bonner and Mitch Georgiades dragged on Geelong jumpers but the talk was more about what lay ahead on the way home.

The crew were apprehensive but then excited to be sharing the same small chartered plane that regularly flies actor Liam Hemsworth - who is in Byron Bay at the moment - around the country whenever he is in Australia.
