No not this time fella.
It was a Carlton fan sooking over how hard Carlton's draw has been compared to Collingwood.

Personally, I think it is fairly even thus far and there is still half a season to go, so it is a mute point.
Carlton have had significantly harder draws than Collingwood for the majority of this century.

77% of Carlton's matches have been against teams above them on the ladder, whereas only 26% of Collingwood's matches have been against teams above them on the ladder...

Judge Judy Eye Roll GIF

Also events in game.

For example, ACL to Coleman for Brisbane in Round 0, 3 x in-game injuries to Richmond in round 1, Dissentgate in the Freo game, etc...
That's just the luck that happens to the good teams! ;)

You do this every year and it is meaningless - did Carlton not lose an important player to an ACL in Opening Round as well? Have Carlton (like every other team) not had games where they have lost multiple players mid-game? Have Carlton (like every other team) not had umpiring go against them? Answer is yes to all of them - just try and open the other eye for once.
Go on, do the analysis and let me know how far ahead on the ledger Carlton are this year for all three scenarios...

In the same way they were in 2023.

But it's great, means there's at least one team who will be easy pickings in the finals (if they get there).

Haha what are you talking about. You cherry picking events is not analysis - it's just bias. These events happen in most game it's swings and roundabouts

Well that just seems unfair :laughv1:
No wonder they are complaining.

I guess it is easier to be playing teams higher on the ladder, when you are holding it up most years.

Interesting stats

Against top 8 sides
Pies W2, L2, D2
Blues W4, L2

Against bottom 8 sides
Pies W4, L2
Blues W3, L1

Same amount of top 8 sides, Pies played 2 more against bottom 8 sides

Interesting
If you go off opposition position at the start of the round the game was played in Carlton have played eight top-8 opponents (6W 2L) compared to Collingwood's five (2W 1D 2L) so far in 2024.

These opponents were:
Carlton ==> Lions (A)*, Dockers (GR), Giants, Cats, Dees, Swans (A), Suns and Port (A)
Collingwood ==> Giants (A)*, Swans, Port, Dons and Blues

*This is including Opening Round where both teams played interstate against a team that made it to at least a PF in 2023. If you want to exclude these it becomes seven for Carlton (5W 2L) compared to four for Collingwood (2W 1D 1L).

See that’s actual real time data you can build a case on

Shame Fudge man can’t provide any real world analysis of any logic or significance

This is where you stuff up old mate, no mention of Docherty and his ACL and that he went off the same time as Coleman and seems you're using injuries as an excuse here, a hard no according to you not long ago.

Who cares about the unevenness of the draw. It's a thing. Collingwood get kissed every year . It is what it is.
Is the team who finishes lower now going to harp on about the lopsided draw ? FmD. Keep the excuses coming people.....
The excuses are flowing now the tables are turned.

You won't get a retraction on that comment either. He will come up with other crap as a counter argument

Don't expect a consistent argument, or deep insight from that poster.
They exist purely to troll Carlton threads.
