Traded James Aish [traded to Collingwood for #26 and St Kilda's 2016 second round pick]

It's interesting that Brisbane have made an inquiry for Jed Anderson. It will be even more interesting to see Leigh's explanation on whether that is a double standard given their stance on Aish.

Hawks will have a crack For sure and have plenty of capital ! And many clubs before the pies in the draft , fact is pies you have no chance ! Accept it , all your options go with treylor boys

Move on to next deal , Aish won't be in a magpie jumper next season ! Be funny if treylor jumps to the blues !

He told the club his hamstring wasn't right. They told him, it's fine, go and play VFL, he played, he re-injured it.

He must be following the example set by senior players.

Freeman was offered a one year deal on close to base salary and you're criticising him for that?

Get off your high horse.
Wow. You might want to actually do some research before you post. At no stage did Freeman re-injure his hamstring in the VFL. Stop making things up.

I reckon Hawthorn & Brisbane posters are going to become good friends for at least the next couple of weeks.
Doing imaginary trades for a player that doesn't want to be at your club sounds fun.

Yeah maybe...maybe not. I reckon there is a better chance of the Lions & Hawks doing a deal than the Lions and Pies.

hearing whispers that other clubs are circling aish for the draft
How does that help Brisbane?
Pick 15 plus spud. Blues offered their priority pick no. 2 plus a player.

Stevens refused to go there then ends up there anyway. But we didn't make the pies stronger for little return and he added nothing to the blues chances in the end.

And now we seem to get fair trades going each way.

This should be what brissy aim for. Push him to the draft if they must but then teams in the future will probably try and give up fair compensation(unless dodoro is involved).
BS. Carlton laughed later that they had no intention of parting with pick 2. An additional player was never in play. They tempted Port with it, purely to stall a trade that would mean Stevens went to the PSD.

It's funny with all the years of trading and drafting, there's only one real highlighted case of a player not getting to his chosen destination. Jade Rwalings was another in the same year. Wanted NM got picked up by Dogs with pick 1. Steven went pick 2.
zzZZzz

Why am I still reading trade scenarios? You Colliwobblers should be talking about trading up in the draft so you can pick him up.

What pick do you think he'll slide too in the National Draft? A truck load of clubs will enquire before the draft for sure. He says no, I only want Collingwood. What clubs will be willing to draft a guy with a high draft pick that they know doesn't want to be there? Later pick or PSD draft no doubt take a punt as your not missing out on something.

If he puts a decent price on his head, I'd suggest late teens. Should get snapped up by 20. Brisbane could always re-draft him with an early 20's pick if they haven't used all the 20's picks on academy kids.

Much better discussion. He's gone from Brisbane and heading to the National draft. It should just be a discussion on who'll pick in with the highest pick come Late November.

He definitely won't be in a lions jumper. Fact is it will hurt your club more than our club.

This is gold. Bravo.

No. Pies have always been willing to trade freeman . At no stage did they take the same stance as brisbane. What balme said is that he thinks a player in freemans situation should repay the faith. Im sure you agree that is true - but the club must also take responsibility for his departure and failure to play.

So its not 'gold'. How can you people so easily come to conclusions that are so obviously wrong? Some seriously 2nd rate opinions and c*** coming from these boards

In no way is there a contradiction between aish and freeman - on a trading level, player level, or the individual level. Even on a club level.

But Aish may say no so it's not solely up to the lions.
And the Lions have said no to trading him and if you read between the lines, they don't want a high draft pick replaced by a 2nd round draft pick and an ordinary player or another second rounder. If they were able to get their hands on a decent young talent in return (and they have inquired about Anderson), I think they might at least ask Aish if Hawthorn is a club he'd might like to go to.

Right.

So he played 4 games in the VFL during April and May.

Then he had surgery in May.

He didn't play for the rest of the season.

We got screwed with Longer, Polec, Yeo and Docherty, despite the fact that we traded with those teams.
It's simple. Get your house in order and you won't be losing all those players. How many players wanted to leave in the early 2000s?

His surgery was a minor op to clear up scar tissue. No new injury was picked up and he was back in full training 5 weeks after.

The reason why he had surgery is Freeman thought he couldn't get top speed in his stride. The issues Buckley referred to were about him carrying these mental demons in his head regarding his hamstrings, a big reason why he didn't exert himself fully after the surgery.

This is shaping up to be a very active trade period for the pies. Lose Kennedy, Freeman and Seedsman but gain Treloar, Aish and who knows what else. Will be even better if Aish goes into the ND. The draft where we got Ball was the most exciting ever. Would love it if we trade into a pick in the teens and pick him up there.
