Would love to her Pyke's reasoning behind bringing van berlo in, but people need to get over their obsession with M Crouch. He's been average ever since he came into the senior side. Yes he's going to be rusty but how many more games can we accept his rustiness? People wanted heads to roll and Pyke has done that, now people complain he's out. Can't win. Great call IMO. One more chance for Douglas.

How seriously should we take a person who can't tell the difference between Matt and Brad in their analysis on the merits of either?

My only guess could be we have certainly been lacking on field leadership the last couple of games and that is really the only thing Vb excels at these days....and he is one player that does run both ways, just not nimbly or quickly anymore.

Matt Crouch out with soreness perhaps explains why he's dropped of the last few weeks...carrying a niggle?

Brad Crouch is the move that has me really mystified though, surely we should be persevering with him now after bringing him back too early, getting a shitload of it at SANFL level will prove nothing at this juncture.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but bejeezus CEY's continued non-selection is testing that.

M crouch is out with soreness not dropped.

Edit: didn't see your edit from Matt to Brad

Van Berlo is in for M Crouch who is being rested due to soreness. He's still a kid. He won't be out for long.

Lyons is in as direct swap for B Crouch because let's face it, Brad has been sh*t.

I understand the melt but also know VB won't be a regular. Same as Henderson - he goes out next week when Laird returns.

Damn. We broke the one rule of selections we should have.

"Don't select Nathan Van Berlo"

Sigh. What a wasted opportunity this week is.

We pray thats the case

I have no problem with resting the Crouch's, but seriously, VB against a severely undermanned GC, seriously?

Talk about missed opportunity, would've been much better to give CEY or Wigg a game. I can only assume VB has made some very strong friendships during his time at West Lakes.

How they pick vb over cey is beyond me. If youve watched their sanfl games in the last month particularly the game vs north it was chalk and cheese. ****ing pathetic selections. Grigg and cey will never get games while campo is there. Flog.

So what we've basically done is blame all our issues of our woeful ruckwork, outside spread, inside grunt and defensive running on one continually injured player in his second consecutive game and his 21 year old brother who has to carry the can as his experienced team-mates around him have pea-hearts. Why would you want to come to the AFC is there's an experienced plodder in your way. Disgraceful, dont think I've been more annoyed at the AFC since we decided to reject Triggs resignation letter.
This club is like a drug addict, promise they've changed, go out for morning strolls and tell you that all is good (Mcgovern and Atkins in) and then when they have your faith and turn your back they resort to the norms and a rest on their 2 achievements as a reason they've changed. So so disappointing

He is highly regarded by the playing group and coaches, always has been.

So we'll end up smashing Gold Coast Vb and Hendo will have a couple of turnovers each leading to easy Gold Coast goals, Thommo
will racking 30+ disposals and a bunch of clearances against some 18 year olds, B. Crouch will do the same against a Centrals midfield
that could quiet possibly just a strong as Gold Coasts and one of either Wigg or Gore will have to travel as the emergency meaning they won't
have played in a fortnight. But at least we will have VBs versatility.

Lyons better be playing the majority of the game in the middle. Grigg and Cey should be making plans for next season seeing as they are clearly not
in the clubs plans.
