Same, I joined the Navy, which BTW is the senior service ;) , and plenty of blokes never made after physical and mental testing.

First test is that 'always-sometimes-never' Q+A (questions like 'When I see someone I dont like walking towards me, I cross to the other side of the street' or 'When I am standing on the edge of a building I want to jump off').

The bloke in front of me was struggling with this. The recruiters picked it up and wandered over.

Turns out the bloke was illiterate.

They took him away pretty quickly.

After each test they'd call out a list of names and take them away. If you were left you made it to the next stage (grilling by the Psych officer, or a medical test with hearing/ vision/ fallen arches/ medical history/ acne/ etc).

It was surprisingly hard to get into. One recent conviction for an offence, a minor medical issue, an off kilter psych eval, or the Psych officer not liking your answers and you were boned.

It's straight from the NYT transcript of their discussion with him. The whitehouse isn't going to pretend this is fake news as it there were several people present and it would have been recorded as it was on the record.

So please address the question
NYT!? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, although at best it seems to be selectively edited and with [garbled] at convenient times.

I think his comment on Poland is awesome. Read The Art of the Deal and "truthful hyperbole" to see what he has always done in this situation.

His comments on Macron are unsurprising. Macron is a genius, he convinced the left to vote for him, despite being way to the right of his competitor on 99% of issues. I thought it was strange at the time that Trump seemed happy about Macron winning, now I realise that he has far more in common with him than he did with Le Pen.

Which parts bothered you?

Just trying to post Trumps pre-election stance on Syria, as you didnt do it.

If you dont think Assad should be removed, either by outside influences or internal is disturbing

Can you point to where I said that he should be ousted by military defeat? Do you not believe in supporting the right of the people to elect leaders?
The situation of Assad as a multi generation dictator of course is bad, but as he was presiding ove a relatively modern peaceful and religiously tolerant regime he wasn't the worst case scenario for that region far from it. However the forces that emerged that were IS, who clearly are worst case, and al nusra who are pretty similar. Back in reality, (not imaginary dreamland of freedom and democracy, like wonderful USA, ) those were the groups who were going to divide Syria.

Not perfect, but I'll take Lebanese *nationalist* Shia's, backed by Christians, with clearly defined goals (re-take territory lost to the Israeli *invasion*) over Wahhabi monsters any day of the week. If Assad staying in results in a strengthened Hezbollah so be it; it's the lesser evil.
And this is where the world is wrong. Who gives a flying **** about what religion you are.

It's a transcript. You know what a transcript is right? It's the entire interview written down. Unedited.

Also you are so wrong on Macron.

But it's not the whole interview. It has [garbled] and [crosstalk] etc written whenever they wish to censor something they don't like. Did you read it? Do you know NYT's reputation?

As for Macron, he's awesome. Tricked the MSM and the left, no wonder he and Trump are always seen laughing together.

What parts bothered me? The fact it is gibberish and complete lies?

I've heard 8 year olds more coherent than him

They have tapes, maybe they should release them and you'll still not be convinced it wasn't doctoring of the tapes. Honestly you are so biased.

You also have no clue about Macron and have only seen him with Trump, not understood his policies or the French political landscape. Not surprisingly really, you tend to fire off bullshit without knowing anything

As for the NYT reputation, it's one of the best news publications in the world due to its reporting of the facts from an unbiased point of view.

Well actually, when you are choosing between religion where some are ignorant bigots, and the other breeds and trains homocidal maniacs, it does kinda matter. Ffs they get ten year olds to carry out executions. Has there ever been such barbarity in the modern world?

So? Hindus have arranged marriage, Catholics fiddle kids and breed like rabbits. It's all stupid.

LOL, you don't, but much of the world does.

There is one religion is particular that's looks down upon all others and even those who claim to have no religion.

Yes, the use of children in armed conflict (religious, racist, nationalist) is widespread and getting worse, and extends across the world. It includes kids as young as 8 years old. It is thoroughly obnoxious in whatever context it occurs.

Who is intolerant now then, if you think arranged marriage is comparable to a doctrine of "convert or die" ? Sounds like intellectual laziness or dishonesty or supremacist bigotry.
Or more to the point that forcing anyone to do anything is stupid? Can't you read or are you that intent on trying to scream that only Muslim's are bad People.

There's only one group as far as I know though who creates propaganda videos of children carrying out executions though.
