2018 Batman By-Election - LABOR WIN

They went within a bee's dick of winning it last time. With the Liberals not running AND the Feeney stench surrounding Labor, it was a complete gimme.

The fact they've managed to lose it is actually pretty impressive.
Don't think you give enough credit to the Labor candidate.

lol. No, don't think so. He wasn't leaking against her. Hopefully the enemies of the Greens's candidate will be expelled from the party and they can go **** around in the Socialist Alliance or somewhere irrelevant. Unforgivable conduct from them cost the election.
Grow up mate, all parties have internal troubles.
If you expel all those who disagree with the number 1 candidate, then you'll soon have no members.
People are allowed to have differing views within any ideology.

I've had a little bit to do with Feeney and he is a massive spud, so having a better quality candidate has been of some benefit.

Alex Bhathal has been offered up as a Greens candidate more than once and perhaps she's done her dash.

So you are not interested in genuine representation?

Do you not think people can be represented by people who have different gender, race, orientation, (etc etc etc) to them?

Are the males in Northcote no longer genuinely represented given a female won?

Labor candidate that doesn't even live in the electorate.
Pretty sure it was Demo that said that was going to be a big big big big problem.
You know how I feel about the Greens and in saying that I think that Di Natale has made many a mis-step.
Lost a large portion of the vote in Tassie, NSW mess and if they lose Batman, should hand over to Adam

Has sided with LNP once too often without getting enough back IMO.

Will still vote Greens in Senate though and will depend on who stands in my electorate.

You won't get that if women are not considered for pre-selection like Liberal Party does.
In fact they don't always go for the best man.

Nobody does...It's 90% party hacks whose history of loyalty (often to their factional chiefs) and work for the party counts far more that who is the 'best' candidate, and this is true for both parties. Quotas just put one more hurdle in the way of finding the best person.

Yes - NSW Greens hate him, and now he's presiding over the disintegration of the Victorian Greens as well.

It's hard to see how he can keep the leadership when the two biggest states in the country are in crisis.

Bullshit.

It's a tough gig being a 1/2 seat minor party. People judge the Greens way too harshly, for the number of people they actually have in parliament at both state and federal level they do a pretty good job managing their people. Has an elected Green's member ever defected 2 minutes after getting elected? Never!

SA Best's result in the SA election is IMO a much worse result than the Greens losing Batman to arguably the best candidate for parliament from any side, both state and federal.

The Liberals are very "Oh no we can't pick that way". But when their leader picks the ministry based on getting every state in it and enough representatives from the Senate they don't bat an eyelid.

You don't have to be a Coalition supporter to think that the Greens lost this election far more than the ALP won it.

But well done for assuming everyone is as one-eyed as you are.

Your hack party didn't even run a candidate.

Did you not pick up on the part where I said BOTH PARTIES do it?

But hey if you want to convince me they're hugely different....how does the ALP pick their ministries?

Oh, please!

I'm not sure if this means you have no counter argument and are thus just dodging the topic, or you're genuinely hoping that men don't get represented in Northcote...

Right be like " the enemy of my enemy...."

I will say time for an " audit " internally for the Greens.
And when i say audit , i mean hand placed flat on the table , bring the knife down , if you move it you're part of the problem and not the solution - styles lol
