Tempers are clearly flaring over this. Don't let it cause issues among us on BF, just let people vent. It's an issue close to home.

Time to look in the mirror and realise we are the crows with more community work.
Football clubs will always be similar. That’s not the same as merg8ng.

We really are "PoRt PoWeR"

Because we sure as hell aren't Port Adelaide.

Take Est.1870 of the back of guernsey. Clearly its meaningless, we are not "One Club"

Can only imaging how Fos Would take it if he were alive today. Were he still at PAFC this sure as hell would not have happened.

The club trumpets its engagement numbers and uses them as a selling point to potential sponsors.

Well boys this is the flip side of that engagement when you make unpopular decisions with no real explanation. Massive blowback.

A warning though for KKK ignore the voice of the people at your peril. I for one hope it works but given further links of attachment to the club will be broken I fear that if things go pear shaped this year the knock on effects re attendance and fan frustration may be brutal.

Congrats to our new club leaders. Ollie truly has earnt it and TJ has been a fav of mine for many years. Stoked to hear it and see how the year pans out.

Worst case scenario the pitch forks will come out at years end and we'll get more change around the club's figure heads to further continue our progressive actions which will inevitably see us find success again, eventually.

As a supporter for 45 years it's just another bad decision on top of the crap we have been served up for over 10 years, could be the nail in the coffin for a few very loyal supporters.
About time the current side made some of their own history instead of riding on the coat tails of the greats of the past.

I just booked tickets overseas during the first month and half of the season. Something I'd never do in the past.

I'm done with this club atm.

Great post.

and save managements arse whilst they are at it.

I’m disappointed with this decision but will accept it for now.

The coaches and board have not listened to its members and unfortunately I expect some backlash in attendances early.

I hope it works because at year end if we’re kot in finals there will be plenty of egg on the faces and people will have to go.

Yet to be confirmed, so maybe a troll.
But if true, then a day of complete shame for this once proud club (with a deliberately small "c").
I will STILL support Port, but i will be supporting 18 men on a footy field. I recognise no captain as such.
The club has but one captain, that is who I hold on the pedestal.
You go with more than one bloke as head honcho. The lantern to light our way forward.
The rest are just subordinates.
If you cannot settle on the one guy, then you effectively have no one in charge, just 18 men IMHO.
Those who made this mindless decision - **** right off from my club!!!!!!!! You have done enough harm!

What does a captain actually do on game day other than call heads or tails? I don't really see how any team needs 'someone in charge' on the playing field. We're a team.

I get the outrage over messing with the number 1 tradition, it sucks, but as far as captaincy goes I don't really think it matters if there is one or not. It doesn't mean anything in the modern game.

Happy with this, change was needed. If this will make us more successful than why not try it.

It's never bothered me...

There other things that get me hot and bothered more than friggen co captains

For eg I still hate ol man Cornes and the media and establishment that drove our numbers down and threatened our existence
I still hate supporting the SANFL including them only staying alive by sucking us dry and then twisting it around as though they are keeping us alive grrrr.... and their disrespect for us

I particularly am peeved that the SANFL held us back and formed the Crows ( I would have been ok with them as long as we were first)

I love our winning history more than a co captain tradition transgression

I like what KT and Kochie have done with the club

I do like the no 1 thing but would rather win a flag with two captains if this is what it takes

It's not the deal breaker to me but hopefully a game changer

One thing for sure with ( apparently) most fans against it ...... it must have been a very hard decision to make.... a brave decision ......

God I hope we kick arse this year

Maybe a simple boo at each home game when its announced over the PA "and your co captains Wines and Jonas"

#bringbackboak

Now they can scrap NTUA, the current football department and board are tearing the traditions of our great club apart.

A year before our 150th as well.... disgusting.

A suggestion for KT while he is trying to convince AOSMA to place AFL representatives on the board because they are concerned about having little input into decisions, little transparency etc.

How about you faasrken argue for increased member representatives on your own board so we can have an impact on decisions that impact on us and some transparency etc. Pretty well most of the arguments you made could be interchangeable.

Never Tear Us Apart... I'm not sure anyone is tearing us apart more than the current hierarchy. Cut the head off the rotten snake. Koch and Ken have just laid the biggest turd collectively on us. It's the first time I've legitimately wanted Koch held solely accountable. Like a real leader is defined by being solely accountable. Fall on your sword you no hoper. You are here for the glory and the prestige of your position.

After all the shit we've been through, culminating in that disgusting effort against Essendon at the end of last season, and THIS is what gets people upset and declaring we are no longer Port Adelaide. This forum never ceases to surprise me.
