Herald Sun breakdown

Melbourne = Jackson
GWS = Young or Ash
GWS = Green (match Swans bid)
Swans = Flanders

Please be true. Flanders looks class. If we aren't gambling on Kemp, he's the one.

Agree
I am happy to get Partington but would be a very late pick. 76 or 81.

Rookie pick, wouldn't waste a full list spot on him. Reminds me way too much of a player that won't make that step. With the new rookie rules he'd be perfect (of that type of player at least)

I actually wouldn't mind if we reached a bit for Deven Robertson for our first pick. I always feel WA kids get underrated a bit, and he sounds a solid mid in the Parker/Selwood mould. Not a great kick, but i can think of a bunch of great mids who aren't great kicks. If our 5 becomes 6 due to the Green bid, then i hope we consider him.

"Not a great kick" and you want him at 5/6? Don't we have enough blokes that are an average at best kick?

363 pages since October 2019! What the hell have you all been talking about???? LOL! :)

I haven't had a chance to look at any of this, can some one give me an idea of who we want and what they bring? No hurry... I might not get back here until its over :(

welcome back Kirkswan, in a nutshell we've all been talking a load of sxxt cause none of us have any idea what's gonna happen outside of gold coast taking Rowell and Anderson with picks 1 and 2

Thanks brad cooper, likely to be fleeting visits till at least January. Sounds like not much has changed!

Judging by his highlights I'm not sure Flanders fits the mould of great kick either

I'd call Flanders a good kick, not exceptional but good. Has vision and the ability to handpass to the right option. I feel he's a type of mid we don't have. I feel if we stay at 5, he's almost clear best available, and I'm very much in the mould of don't overpay, take the best available. Take your gambles in the 2nd and 3rd.

Dangerfield isn't a great kick. Selwood isn't a great kick. Cripps isn't a great kick. Even Bontempelli isn't a great kick.

Would take them all at 5/6.

Fair enough, I don't have much idea as i didn't really watch much state 18s this year so have no real opinion on who we should take. (although I like the idea of Cooper Stephens as our 2nd rounder) out of curiosity taking rowell and anderson off the table what's your order in preference for swans.

I'll take the top 5 off the table (Rowell, Anderson, Young, Jackson, Green). These will be gone you'd assume 99.99% so lets assume they are.

1. Flanders (mid who can go forward, have heard Robbie Gray type being thrown up as a comparison)
2. Kemp (I'm assuming the medical reports are all good here)
3. Ash
4. Serong
5. Jeremy Sharp (one that I hope we look at with our second if he slips)

this guy at 32 or whatever it ends up could be value. https://www.afl.com.au/draft/prospects

Some of those haircuts are genuinely terrifying.

Darcy Chirrgwin looks like an adolescent Severus Snape, and Josh Morris looks like he's going stab someone for a pack of cigarettes at Kingswood train station.

I'll stop making judgements about 18 year old kids about to enter the draft, good luck to all of them.

He does look like Snape though.

yup, but dem Chirwiggins tho, abruptly like DAMN..are they pure snakes up in here? Never brag on your grow if you cain't or some such..

Oh, you missed it. We got Serong, Rantall, Ralphsmith and Hilder. Not everyone’s happy about it but that’s just how the cookie crumbled, there were no real huge sliders unfortunately.

Still waiting for the rookie draft, only a few hours to go now! Can’t wait.
