Martin - not even as good as Petracca
Riewoldt - can't sing
Lynch - liability
Grimes - have you tasted his wine?

Jack's had some frustrating moments on the big stage, for sure.

The fact that he will likely finish his career 3rd on our all-time goal-kicking list whilst playing second fiddle to Josh Kennedy his entire career says that his contribution to the team is criminally undervalued and, if anything, is probably very underrated for what he brings to the team.
I rate Jack Darling. At his best he is very dangerous. Great when his side is up and about.

But not when the game is on the line and the pressure is on in a GF...

2015 - if he hadn't fumbled WCE would have overrun us.
2018 - did OK, but in the last minute when he could have iced it he fumbled.

JK does the heavy lifting when the whips are cracking.

Is the fumble's impact overrated? At that stage, Hawthorn were leading by 25 points.

Correct. He's just a better footballer though in general, finals or no finals...no shame in that for Jack.

Darling is probably underrated if anything, considering noone on here actually rates him. Go and compare his numbers to Tom Lynch(same draft) and consider how those 2 players are rated individually.

Not here is he not ...

Almost 2 goals a game , with 5 Marks , 3 Tackles , Solid and improving to excellent direct Goal Assist numbers .... and done all of this as the second or third banana when he plays best as a main target , as evidenced in 2019 .

Not one team in the league that would not be excited to plug him straight into a key forward role .

Harshly Judged comparative to his output .

They had the momentum, and we were flagging in the heat. Combined with a monumental stuff up by Shuey around the same time, they could have been within 2 goals.

We went up the other end, scored a goal, and put them to bed.

In what way are Guelfi, Colyer, Farrar, Wood and Duryea overrated?

Gryan Miers is not overrated at Geelong. He is the current punching bag, replacing Zac Guthrie who is developing into a reliable footballer

Uh, who rates aarts? Richmond people literally call him faarts

Not too sure how Rachele gets a mention when he’s an 18 year old in his first season. Started the season well and received the deserved praise, but started to tire and has then copped a few injuries in the 2nd half of the season. Not spoken about in the media at all since the first few rounds as Daicos is clearly the RS winner.

Does anyone rate Corey Durdin that highly? I think he’s a good young prospect and most would agree that’s where it ends.

Strange list.

Petrucelle isn't rated much these days.

The Milan to Minsk trip is certainly not overrated.

Travis Colyer? Gets 90% of his mentions on the Freo board as a proposed omission for the coming match

Not sure Tyler Brown is 'rated'

100% . A rough call

This is a pretty strange list. A few of these guys are not even entrenched in their teams best 22. Prior for the Lions has been in and out and if we are fully fit probably doesn't play. I'm not sure half of big footy even knows who he is, so I'm not sure where the overrated tag comes from.

I think if you are looking at the Brisbane Lions at the moment there are two who stand out.

Dan McStay would be one. Hasn't kicked more than 24 goals in a single season, yet here we are in his FA year and he is getting talked up around his trade value, with at least one club reported to be offering him a very generous deal. Now we love Dan at the Lions but he really is just a role player. Certainly overrated by Collingwood it would seem and some in the media.

The other guy would be Cam Rayner. There is even a thread on this very topic. Now Cam does have some elite attributes for sure and was the #1 pick a few years back, so there is quite the media profile and goodwill around his performances. But he is yet to really put it together and become the 20 high impact possessions and a goal a game player he should be. So in terms of media profile and us lions fans overly positive opinion of him, you could certainly argue his performance to date hasn't lined up.
