What I would give for a few more overs here. I wonder if that could have been achieved at some point yesterday?

you could have batted on for a few more overs and ensured SA couldn't force you bat again which is something I always lean toward. but either what handscomb did was really stupid - declaring first ball after lunch. it means, unless I'm missing something, he gave away 2 overs for literally no gain, either in runs scored or overs to bowl.

Yep. We actually lost three overs - you lose the over you bat as well. It was pointless.
