Dropping Fogarty at this early stage of the year would be a totally idiotic move that I don't even think the club is dumb enough to make.

We are 2 games in. Berg needs to go forever though.

There's no way Fog gets dropped leaving a forward line with Berg there by himself, that would be a disaster.
I think Fog is very close to getting it all together and becoming a good target in our forward line, especially with TT not playing at the monent

We've gone round the houses on this debate, on why the two players are not in the same situation.
They're both donkeys. Neither is AFL standard.

... yet because you're the world's biggest fanboi of one, dropping him would be "totally idiotic".

Both need to be dropped and delisted, as soon as suitable replacements can be obtained (through trade/draft/free agency) - even if that means talking Tex into playing on while their replacements get up to speed.

Luckily someone at the club rates Fog and he's contracted to the end of next year.

I look forward to you eating your words. Big time.

Yes... he's contracted to 2023. He needs to pull his thumb out massively if he wants to be at the club in 2024. So far, there is no evidence whatsoever that this is likely to happen.

I agree he needs to pull his thumb out. But he can't do that being in and out of the team constantly while he's trying to find his feet.

I'd argue that he shouldn't be gifted a place in the AFL team while he refuses to (or continues to showing himself incapable of) pull his thumb out. As far as I'm concerned, he can go back to the SANFL and earn his position in the AFL team. He shouldn't be selected again until he demonstrates the ability to dominate at that level, rather than cruising along with substandard performances in the AFL.

He has the potential. He needs to deliver on that potential, or get out of the ****ing way, and allow someone with a decent work ethic to do the job in his stead.

Underwhelming. Going back to senior failures.

Is this at all official? You'd think releasing it this early would allow for some tactical changes before the deadline by both teams ... I mean they have 2 ins and 3 outs, we have 1 out and 3 ins - at least we should outnumber them at the contest!!

I'd argue he should be gifted games at AFL level, rather than wasting 8 weeks in the SANFL and then the season is half way done.

He should play every game at AFL this year to see if he can actually make it.

Mate we are rebuilding, not challenging for a flag. Your supposed to gift young players games in these times....

So the three questions that come out of your comment above are:

(1) Do you believe he has a chance to deliver on his potential in his 43 games (52 goals) as a 22 year old big man coming into his 5th season?
(2) How long have other players of his type taken to start delivering?
(3) Who is he standing in the way of?

I know you are hard headed on Fog, and that you see everything he does as being useless ... but actually he was good in Game 1, and not good in Game 2. Patience is tough for supporters, but what exactly do we have to lose here?

There was someone comparing Fog and Hawkins stats at the same age the other day and they were nearly the same, Fog was actually kicking more goals

But this still wasn't good enough for a couple of posters on here, who then went on to shift the goal posts about why he was still shit.

And what role is Murphy going to play?
Sub for Soligo ??

I'd be slightly surprised and very disappointed if there was one change only.

We made 4 last week with only 1 injury
