Opinion Sack Hinkley 10 - UnTENable

Kane doubling down on his 'they don't have the talent!' defence after this game of all games is comical. Yeah sure, it's an arguable point when you lose to Melbourne or Geelong or GWS but the Crows? How ridiculous.
We don't have the talent to beat a team with Ned McHenry in it m8

Imagine if playing an injured Rozee is what costs him the job.

We're fine with consistently poor performances in big games. We're fine with no accountability. We're fine with attempting to hold the club to ransom. We're fine with all those other played injured players.

But this one. Nup.
Don't care what makes it happen, as long as it happens. Rozee is still young enough to break out under a new coach.

Kanes argument is dumb, this is Hinkleys list. The entire list has nearly changed over. It’s his job to develop players.

If Chris Scott or Kingsley (or any good coach) had our list we would be a top 4 team winning finals.

At this stage to suggest anything other than our coaching and game plan are responsible for our consistent failing is just moronic.

Also, it bears repeating every time Cornes trots this out, Hinkley has been coach for how long? It's not like he's inherited this list.

Hinkley's getting more and more desperate, the Allir Jones concussion nonsense was an indication and playing your best midfielder after doing a hammy the week before just proves it. The fact he comes into the press conference with some grand standing statement about womens rights after the team just lost a showdown shows a guy desperate to deflect. Just think about it for a second, he sat there for 3 hours watching his team kick 5 goals in their home deck, lost his captain and best midfielder because he made some mindboggling decision to play him and the thing that is formost at the front of his mind is womans rights? If that is what's going through his mind and it must have been if you believe what he said then it is well and truly time to move this guy to the CWA to represent all the fine country women from the Camperdown district who are desperate to sit down and discuss their issues with their champion.

So we brought in two ruckmen and two defenders in the trade period last year, but Kenny STILL hasn’t got the players to work with in his twelfth year?

Remember Kingy and the rest banging on about Trent McKenzie and holes? Turns out it wasn't the personnel that was the problem ...

it just doesnt stand up to scrutiny, this is the best list hes had according to Ken and to quote Kornes its a Grand Final or faliure. You cant say the team is good enough to get to the grand final and then say you dont have the cattle. He's lives in his own delusion and this is the guy who reckons Sam Mitchell is a genius based on nothing more than the fact he has some coaching philosophies that impressed him but cant get his team out of the bottom 4 and also reckons Hinkley is better than Craig Mcrae and Adam Kingsley who have spanked Ken multiple times in the past 12 months. He's a laughing stock of contradiction because he just cant get his head out of the Hinkley cult most probably because his brother's employment is dependent upon it succeeding.

Mason Cox, Billy Frampton are premiership players. Let that sink in Kane!

I assume you're using "coach" in its very broadest sense?
Sorry to intrude, but from an opposition supporters point of view that’s correct.

Ken doesn’t actually coach, he either just sits on the bench watching or stands and watches like he’s waiting for a bloody bus

There was a shot of him while his team was five goals down just chatting to someone behind him. 5.18 and he’s joking around.

Hes paid to sit on his backside and not do his job….

I dunno why Kane finds him so charming and needs to protect him.

Surely if neutral opposition supporters are getting fed up, surely the board will see it (but they won’t)

No way he said Ken is better than Fly or Kingsley? The man who coached the flag last year and the one that came within one point of a GF and is currently top 4

The worst case scenario to bringing in the succession plan early is Carr isn't a good coach and now we're struggling against the worst teams too.

Is this even plausible? We're going to win most of the games based purely on our midfield talent.

If we struggle is it even much worse? At least we'll know if the next coach has promise and we'll finally begin resetting how we set up and play.

Really no downside outside of having to pay out the contract.

Lol we're really stuck in a time loop.

There is no way that his job is under threat from playing Rozee. Barich saying that is a part of the footy hype cycle.

it's just one part of it. people are now talking about his mismanagement of his new young captain. people are now talking about his tactical limitations. people are now talking about our poor skills. people are now talking about our poor goalkicking. people are now talking about how long this has all been happening. we got little rumblings of SOME kind of internal "succession plan" existing, caro said something about it recently. something does seem to be happening.

Ken allowed Kane to get to 300 games and leave the team high and dry mid-season to be a failed firefighter.

So Kane's life mission is to polish a turd.

The problem with Carr is that he is going to be stuck with the deadwood that remains at the club to support him. A new coach coming in should have the option to wipe the football department clean so he can impose his style of football. Its going to take Carr 3 years to clear out the Hinkley filth left behind.

The “succession plan” is 100% Kochie trying to placate the masses with a Port person, while avoiding making the hard call on Ken (and in so doing, admit his mistakes). It’s the dodgiest approach possible, so of course we’re doing it.

For the next coach, we desperately need an open, competitive selection process (with an outsider or two involved). The list will attract a strong field of candidates.

if the club doesnt do a open and full application process to find out who is the best person to coach the club then its just gonna be more of the same. Anyone advocating Josh Carr walks into the coaching position because Koch and Ken said so are delusional. Personally anyone associated with the Hinkley era should be flushed down the toilet and that includes Josh because he's sat there for 3 years and has seen with his own eyes the folly of Hinkley's coaching and has said nothing in the hope that he's the man. If he had a shread of credability he would have walked last year knowing Hinkley is a sinking ship, yet he stayed? That says everything as far as im concerned.

I’m sorry, but there’s only one person who is ultimately responsible for their ability to say “Yes, after a training session I feel one hundred percent”, and that’s the player involved. The person who is ultimately responsible for selection is Hinkley and he put his hand up and said he got it wrong, but he said that he based his call on “all the information available” and part of that would have been how Rozee said he was feeling after every training session during the week.

That’s what I meant when saying he shouldn’t have put his hand up, because there’s no way he felt great after a training session if he couldn’t last half way through a game.
I called out this was happening the day before the game and many others here had similar reservations.

Why is it that I with tenuous links to the club and even lesser footballing IQ can articulate this as a concern but old bugalugs just happily walks towards disaster with that stupid smirk on his face.

Its like he's an AFL plant brought in to destroy us.

Haven't been really looking in on BF lately as emotionally I have checked out on the club, I still go to the games, but I just don't care anymore because as long as this Charlatan is still there, nothing will ever change. There is no point putting any emotion or care into the club in these circumstances. However, the major benefit of last night is that it has finally turned the tide to a point where even the opinion on Port Facebook has swayed against Hinkley. Surely the club must be seeing this level of feedback and be considering moving on this guy. How many more seasons do we need to waste, how many quality players do we need to burn, and how many more fans need to walk away or stop investing in the club before the penny drops with the Chairman, Board, and CEO? We are destroying our club's legacy over a nobody. WHY?

There were asylum seekers on Nauru who have never seen a game of football who knew it was a mistake to play Rozee.

But not the genius.

I'm just worried that the Facebook thing is a new thing to the club and not an ongoing issue with fans since 2015.
