I’m interested / have a theory in the turnaround at Carlton since they got Cook!
They were a Basket case of late trying to work out how to win without salary cap cheating as they did until caught in 2002.
Cookie comes in and all the high profile players are signed up on longterm large $ contracts.
Very similar to the Geelong model but we all knew how good he was at property speculation back then.
There are some very powerful businesses associated with Carlton- will come to light eventually.

Bro, Carlton have been bad for the last decade and are the recipients of quite a few high draft picks, sooner or later these picks start to blossom. Add a few quality recruits and that's the reason why they are starting to flourish

What if someone at the club said stuff this, I want success at any cost.

It’s ripe for the picking because the backers are powerful ruthless business men who hate losing.

I think it’s cyclical throughout the competition, not just Carlton.

Mateif the Pies can win wiith what was arguably the 5th or 6th best list it means coaches matter more than a coupla star players.

We are also performing very well defensively, that is what is keeping us competitive.
One of the main reasons we beat them earlier this year.
Midfield of ours is so highly underrated by them.
Hopefully we can keep that going and improve our attack before we meet them again, it may well be for top spot?

Scale is everything when it comes to cheating or manipulation of systems.

Carlton did it to a level beyond comprehension, and given up by its own players.
All because of trying to keep Fraser Brown and big Jack just saying get it done against Collo’s better judgment!

No comparison, much like the Essendon drug saga.

All im saying is it strange how a person comes to work at the club and all of a sudden they are competitive.
Keeping all players regardless of market value.
Given history of all parties it raises suspicions and theories
