Weird thing to say right now but, beat the pies and I reckon we beat both Dee's and lions. No more interstate losses. This should be the aim from here on in, Lewis and Dear need bit more time, so does Day, we were absolutely all over them in the first and third qtrs , so much so that they sent their best player in Dawson on Day and then on Newk and also on Sicily for brief time!! But, I'm not sold on Morrison, MacDonald and Nash.

How smart is the way Gunners plays. His leading patterns are so good, and he is doing them on players that are faster than him.

I think the Carlton game shows what our forward structure should be with the three talls. Not sure who makes way, however..
Gunners has been amazing, but us needing a near career high goals year from Jack at this stage of his career, just to make the finals is a cause for concern.

Moore was being clamped by Bond. He was running with him everywhere and not giving him space.

I wonder why we didn't give him greater midfield minutes.
That's the one for me. We need to play Moore the majority in middle for the rest of the year. He is struggling forward, and we are struggling in the middle.

Don’t forget the Crows are a year ahead of us in our collective rebuilds, but we spiked before them last year, they should’ve played finals in 23 but were robbed right in front of me (right in front of me) we should be aspiring to be at their level next year,
Disappointing result but we take a lot of learnings.
I think Worpel should’ve played his last game for the club I would bring in Butler for him next week
Chol out for BMac (sub)
We go again

Who back up rucks without Chol?

Dear the obvious sub.

He's the only player aside from Gunston who consistently looks dangerous.

Would be a monumental mistake to not start with a guy who can clunk marks from anywhere, and put real pressure on defenders on the way back out.

I'm a big fan of Lewis, but he was getting stepped a little too easily, and seemed a touch off the pace, while Calsher was two dropped marks short of really getting us going.

If one is dropped and we're hell bent on staying in the race, it's surely not Calsher Dear.

Think that was in regards to last night where Calsher was the obvious sub off for Worpel

Hasn't clicked since last year
yep hasn't clicked for a full game - been patches of it in some games but then we go back into the overuse of stationary handball or unnecessary sideways handball when running forward & clear (BTW this was happening in some games at Box Hill this year and Zane focussed on it and stopped it), go back to being too hesitant, lack of movement, not supporting each other as in running together, numbers to the contest etc consistently enough for long enough and so on.

We subbed wrong guy for a wrong guy.

Lewis goes missing against decent defender is concerning.

Worpel should not be in team, good player but clearly has checked out.

CMAC well.....

CMAC

He is going to be extremely good but Sam made 100% the right call last night you can only sub one guy out, and on the night it was always going to be Calsher

Think we are a chance against Pies but our interstate record is crap and Brisbane might be fighting for top 4.

Bottom half of 8 is still a good result. Jag another finals win and we have shown we were not a one hit wonder with Hok Ball and a soft draw last year.

Can really build from there with adding some A-Graders.

Cmac is a real worry for me, i just keep waiting for it to click and it just hasn't. He really he is just a bobs up a few times a night and unless he takes all his chances he really is not offering mumuch.
He doesn't want to seem to get dirty at the moment. His stats always look decent but he seems to be shirking things a bit. His goal last week he hit the pack hard, didn't see him do that once last night

He looked spent a lot last year, and then was able to hang tough to keep performing. He looks sharp imo. Always threatening.

Lewis will be fine. He's coming back from a long time out. Nobody should be judging him long term from his second game back from an ACL.

Don't be like those in the media who always use excuses for the stars, but never Newk.

Tagged against Port.
Underdone and subbed out against Carlton.
Tagged again tonight, but some of those clearances were still breathtaking.

People still only want to put it down to 'he's out of form'.
He's carried the midfield all year. Needs help. Once Day is more match fit Newk will lift again
