He didn’t play midfield at all.

Thanks for pointing out this stats that we can all read. My comments were actually on how he played and what he bought to the team.
Yeah absolutely nothing

He might not have been at centre bounces but he was at plenty of ball ups and throw ins.

The guy had 6 disposals 1 tackle 1 contested possession and 1 mark and of his 6 disposal only 4 of them were effective. He did **** all of anything in a half of football, just how low is the bar you guys have set for him?
Calm your melting. I've been as critical of him as anyone.

I'm just telling you that if you're going to criticize him, at least do it properly.

He was rarely a midfielder tonight, and that was clear to anybody who was watching him.

Melting? Because I use facts and figures to base my argument. Tell me one measurable thing he did well tonight.

Not everyone who disagrees with you is “Melting”.

You're really struggling here.

Seeing as you haven't noticed, I haven't said Clark played well, you're arguing with the wrong guy. We're in vague agreeance on his performance tonight.

I just said if you're going to criticize him, do it properly, in terms of the role he actually played.

Gees we would of been in trouble if it wasnt for tom stewart. Dominated intercepts on the last line of defence too often.

Stewart also did some really stupid sloppy stuff tonight. Summed up the whole team really.

He did line up around stoppages here and there and I think he had at least one of two CBAs.

It did look like he was rotating to defence though. I couldn't quite tell where some of the time
Stoppages aren’t CBA’s nor are they midfield time. Saw him a bit in defensive positions though.

Let’s look at his position map, which is 67% in a defensive position.

In that case, you’d assume he was more defensive based ie. half back flank or wing, than midfield.

Which is basically what I said in the second sentence

I want to believe, trust me.

But it's been 60 games of this shit performance level now. 60. That's a large sample size. How much longer can he keep living off the credits of what he did 3 years ago?
Far more likely we are stuck with who he is. He's played 15/20 genuinely good games and the rest have been poor. Overrated, escapes almost all scrutiny and is a liability most weeks. Going to cost us big when it matters most and he is no longer the aerial presence he once promised to be.

If Kolo was fit this season... Who misses in this backline? We really think the MC would be foolish to play SDK over COS? I'd hope not.

Probably wouldn’t overreact to some of the negative aspects of the performance.

Mannagh was excellent, Miers brilliant at times. Smith ran them into the ground again.

Stewart was fantastic, attack on the ball sensational.

Cameron’s marking is better than it has been for a long time. That is good news going into September.

Coming off the quick turnaround I actually thought some of our players looked gassed at times, some were running on the spot in the 2nd half.

Apart from those you mentioned I thought O'Sullivan also stood out.

Longer break to tune up for Sydney; we're in decent shape.

He's very similar to Darcy Moore. Both are heavily reliant on the system around them.

When the pressure up the field is there on the ball carrier the likes of Stewart, Henry, and especially Kolo are firing on all cylinders (Howe, Frampton, and Murphy previously for them) they can look like the players everyone expects them to be.

If we’re forcing rushed kicks and pushing our intercept press higher, SDK holds his own.

But when the ball’s coming in at express pace, he’s often caught out. Outbodied and trailing his man by five metres, much like Moore.

It’s disappointing when you think back to the heights we expected he’d reach by now in 2022 (AA level), but he’s not a lost cause.

He’s just one of those modern defenders who need a lot going right in the system to shine, which is becoming more common in the post–1v1 era.

On the bright side, I COS will end up being the footballer we expected SDK to be IMO.

6 disposals and 1 tackle in half a match as a midfielder is poor.

Clark had a solitary centre bounce attendance from his 49% TOG - he took Henry's spot in the defensive 50 for the 6-6-6 centre bounce requirements and spent majority of his time playing behind the ball as a defensive flanker option who rarely pushed into the attacking half of the ground

It's similar to a role he played in the VFL late last season but one we haven't really seen from him at senior level
