symptom of soft footy, that’s new

not at all.

If one side is crashing into the contest harder than the other team, soreness can occur in the softer team as the bodies arent prepared for it. Had plenty of coaches tell me this. Not new at all. Think of it like boxing. If one boxer is just throwing soft jabs to the face but the other one landing powerful uppercuts then guess who is going to be sorer.

That was a terrible performance and exactly what we didn’t want. We needed to get on too early, put the game to bed and then rest up key players.
Instead we relied on our best players to scrap every minute of the game and now back up by playing Collingwood who have a 3 day extra break. Awful from us.

So many tried to coast around.
Hinge is rubbish. Laird was shit - so many panic kicks to spots a guy with his experience shouldn’t be doing. Milera has had a great 6 weeks but was back to awful today. Berry is doing a whole lot of nothing at the moment. I think he’s supposed to be nullifying his opponent, but he doesn’t do that or get the ball.

I hope it’s the kick in the pants we needed to remind us that we aren’t THAT good yet.

I think the biggest concern is how much we miss Tex on field. Gonna be a massive hole to fill when he does decide to call it quits. Still takes a defender but more importantly sets us up on field. That was the Chris burgess farewell game.

Zac Taylor probably played his best game, Pedlar back to some of his best. Dawson, TT and Rankine stood up when it mattered most.

Anyone taking Butts over Murray at the moment?
I’m taking a fit Butts over Murray for sure.

Burgess good?!?

You really do lean into your nickname.
The guy is actually slower across the ground than Walker but not as smart as him so gets easily expose by his opponent. That kick by Rankine would have easily been mark by someone not as slow as him and watching him "run" to kick the ball from the goal square was like watching RoB.

So if both sides crash in no sore bodies

Good.
Izak's 2nd half..top.drawer.
Taylor. Great game today
Pedlar. 3 goals and crucial goals it turns out

Bad.
Mindset. I think we just expected to turn up and win and we were off because of it

Ugly.
Turnovers.
We showed the comp that if we are off, even slightly and they bring the heat we are in big trouble and rely on individual brilliance to dig us out of a hole

Could be my imagination, but to my eye he doesnt seem to like playing back home.
Small sample size I admit.
Hopefully the ground doesn't suit him and will prevent him from ever seeking a trade home

Hi lads and ladies, thought I'd wonder over.

Good win, the cream rise to the top late and won it when it mattered. We made you earn it, but that you did.

I hope your lads go on and get the biscuits this year.

You're a proper club with a proper set of fans who play good football in a proper football city.

All the love and respect coming from the West.

Cheers

Not enough credit it Dawson in this thread, was huge and kept us in the game. Had 14 tackles!

Won 7 in a row and people are calling out straight sets, sack the coaches , get rid off half the team FFS.

Went to Perth, got the win, move on.

Top of the table a game clear.

Did the posters claiming the Crows will go out in straight sets actually see the Collingwood and Brisbane games?

Or the Bulldogs, Fremantle and Gold Coast also struggle to get over the line?

The only 2 teams that won well were Hawthorn (who the Crows beat a week ago) and Geelong (who played at home against an Essendon reserves team).

It’s not like all other contenders won by 10 goals this round.

Burgess was probably the wrong selection. Tried to keep the three headed monster. Maybe would have been better off bringing in extra run. In the end it really looked like they ran off of Burgess as they werent worried about him.

Taylor, Pedlar just did what they had to.

Dawson held it all together

Thilthorpe and Rankine when it mattered.

Burgess just no good. Bond has delusions about his ability. Jones had a great chance to come on and put some speed on the game and just played bruise free stuff before being chucked onto Kelly I think

Burgess and Jones can f off. Bond we persist if he promises to stick to his role.

Correct bloody ridiculous reactions from people.

I can’t say I’ve watched a lot of Eagles games this season, but I’m guessing that would be close to their best game this season?

Brought the pressure for 4 full quarters and were probably unlucky not to get over the line in the end.

If anything good came out of the game, we saw what some younger players had in a high pressure game. Taylor? Stood up. Pedlar? Not as prolific as Taylor, but took his moments when they were there and kept us in it early with his goal kicking. Bond? 50/50 at times, but not as experienced as the others. Jones? Nope, he's not gonna make it, same as Burgess.

I'd say so. We beat St Kilda but they were off the boil until late, you gave a much better four quarter effort, even though I know you have more gears.

did i not mention cheap ball. he did nothing with it and provided no damage. they are two very seperate things.
Saying the wrong thing repeatedly doesn’t make it correct. See if you can guess which player was the leading contested ball winner on the ground in the 2nd half. Also, let me know if that same player was in the top 3 for score involvements.

Winning when playing badly. The hallmark of a good side.

Lots of bad not much good.

Good
Taylor - clean and composed. Best game for the club.
Thilthorpe - hungry to win and lifted for the win
Rankine - unbelievable second half. His goal from 50 was exceptional. Our forwards weren’t getting it done so he bypassed them

Bad
Rob, Worrell, Laird, Keays, Anb

Ugly
Burgess - bloody useless
Jones - no football brain. Can’t find the ball. Time for a new sub. For a quarter he is fine but not a half.
Can’t agree on Laird. Our best defender today.
