As you said, it may be tangled up with a Stephens trade or, even worse, an attempt to trade up to pick 4 or 7. That could delay the Grundy trade until quite late, purely because of what pick(s) are available.
Exactly, it could be anything.

I'm hoping Melbourne want to do it as cleanly and quickly as possible, so it doesn't drag on and to get their other trades done, but as you say, it might drag on.

That's more than they got last year!
But we're not trading with Collingwood though, are we. We are trading with Melbourne and the deals have very little in relation to one another. Our need is significantly greater than the Demons, and they will also not trade him away unless they can get some sort of replacement locked in.

Whilst true it shouldn’t cost more this year though as it is our second is more than last year. Dees don’t need a replacement and someone like Flynn from GWS would suit them more as he’s not bad FWD.

You'd better tell them that. And make it quick before Flynn buys his plane ticket to Perth.

Ticky! media thread :p
If its Trade related I'll post it here to keep the Media Thread on Topic. Otherwise we'll end up with pages and pages of draft talk in the media thread.

FYI Paddy Dow is overseas, so if you see any talk of 'touring facilities' that's a load of rubbish.

It's been mentioned many times that with all of the academy and F/S matches, our pick 23 may drop to around pick 27-30.

Melbourne might not want that, so a pick swap may get us picks that points total may add up to say a pick 20, which may then satisfy Melbourne.

All hypothetical until the nitty gritty is done, to get the trade done early in the trade period.

This comes up every year.

Pick 23 is still pick 23 for live on the board players.

All of the father/son and academy picks are not live picks for other clubs so it’s meaningless to discuss them, unless you are one of those clubs that have one in play and are looking for points.

Melbourne is not one of those clubs.

It's kinda sad the level of reporting that goes on.

Are other codes this bad with misinformation reporting during their trade periods?

Not one accredited media source has said Dow was touring our facilities on the weekend.

You need to understand the difference between accredited media and social media.

Hence why I run the Blue Tick Rumours thread. Only accredited media get posted.
