Chad Warner
When the Sydney Swans swept up Chad Warner with pick 39 at the 2019 AFL Draft, they secured a youngster with an insatiable appetite for the contest. Warner attacks the ball and opponents with aggression and is relishing calling midfield bulls Josh Kennedy and Luke Parker his teammates at the Swans. Warner impressed for Western Australia in the 2019 AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 18.2 touches (50 per cent contested), 3.2 clearances and 6.8 tackles per game. He also tallied an average of 27.1 disposals, 6.4 clearances and 7.4 tackles per match at Colts level for East Fremantle in 2019. He earned his AFL debut against Richmond in Round 6 of the 2020 season, recording eight disposals and two tackles.

Chad Warner
DOB: 19 May 2001

yeah, but it's not like warner is the only player opposition teams will need to shut down ...
Oh absolutely not. But he's going to start to come in for some attention sooner rather than later.

Nice stat on this week's episode of On The Couch

35% of the time Chad Warner touches the ball, the Swans score (2nd in the AFL).

I have. Campbell got pinged for a badly disguised deliberate OOB right in front of me early last year. He was distraught. Rampe death stared him. The other defenders took their lead from Rampe. Only Cunningham consoled him. Wasn't impressed.
Hehe. That was a death stare. This was words.
Enough said. I'm sure Rampe would be the best teammate to have in defence.

Easily best 22 but I think he is still developing as a midfielder. Even against West Coast I felt he had good and bad moments. Early in that game there were a few attacking sequences that broke down.

I think sometimes we forget he is just starting his 2nd season as a regular AFL midfielder.
One of the things that impresses me about the Chad is that despite his clearly excitable nature he is able to really calm down to spot a target, deliver or receive a hand pass, or steady and kick a goal. Ice in his veins while going 100mph. So many young players twitch at these moments - he rarely, if ever, does.

yeah, for sure ... and mcinerney very similar
they're both so composed and assured when they get possession, yet they seem like wild kids in the way they attack the game ...
gotta be a great sign for the future, give em a few years to really get the hang of it
