But the mug is round. The jar is roundIs that a Seinfeld reference? Knowing our luck, we'll turn up to a trade presentation with a talk about Ovaltine!

What has given you that impression? Seems like a strange move.It also looks like Leppa is keen for Redden to spend some time in the forwardline.

Any deal with Jaksch won’t involve Mitch Robinson or Jeff Garlett, with the Giants not interested and having to downsize their list. But the Blues are confident it can strike deals elsewhere for both of those players, whose off-field behaviour has put them on the trade table. Garlett met with Essendon this week and has also attracted interest from Melbourne. Robinson is still in the frame at the Brisbane Lions. Out-of-favour midfielder Kane Lucas, the No.12 pick in 2009, has been told he can leave if the Blues can be satisfied with a rival club offer. He is out of contract.
I don't think Carlton mind overlooking Jetta. The search for him would have used too many resourcesI was always very underwhelmed by Kane Lucas...IIRC, he was part of the compensation we gave up for Fevola along with Henderson. Carlton must be spewing they passed up Lewis Jetta. As for Robinson, still a massive no from me.

There is still plenty to gain for all 18 clubs if they are up for the fight. But who could benefit the most? We rank the teams from 1-18 with the top-ranked team potentially having most to gain from the free agency and trade period.
1. Brisbane Lions
For all the exploits of Clark, Frawley, Jarrad Waite and Paddy Ryder, the youngest star who appears likely to move is Dayne Beams, and his most likely destination is the Lions. If Beams moves to the Gabba, Justin Leppitsch will suddenly have an incredible collection of midfield talent - Tom Rockliff, Jack Redden, Daniel Rich, Beams, Pearce Hanley, as well as youngsters James Aish, Nick Robertson and Lewis Taylor. It is the kind of crop upon which a club can build for a sustained finals tilt.
Not sure that claim can be supported with evidence anymore.
I think a Merrett/Watts direct swap would be mutually advantageous. Watts is a gun, and he would benefit from leaving the Demons/Melbourne/No. 1 draft pick spotlight; I think he's developed as much as possible under the Demons. I think he'd do well in Leppa's Lions' family environment. Thoughts?

Will be interesting to see if those spells increase if Beams gets to the club.He spent some time forward this season. Not a lot, just short spells.
I don't think we'll be drafting anybody from the National Draft at this rate.
Father-son + Academy.
But you never know where the next unpolished gem might be.
Rockliff seems the capable of impact in the forward line, right?
Dons reject Port offer for Ryder
ESSENDON has rejected Port Adelaide's first selection in the NAB AFL Draft in exchange for disgruntled ruckman Paddy Ryder.
The Power offered pick No.16 for Ryder, who has nominated Port as his preferred new home, but the Dons have knocked back the deal.
Speaking on SEN radio on Friday, Port's list manager Jason Cripps said a resolution could be some way off.
JB makes a valid point. Whilst we might need a defender or 2 and a forward or two, it will be easier to attract those types with a killer midfield.
