How can they be cashed up when they had to offload 2 players just to get the guys they did last year?
They say Hodge, Gibson retiring and them offloading Puoplo will free up $1 million+, plus the 20% increase in the cap.

Stinks a bit of them building a strong 10-12 players, but not having any depth behind it though, which i'm not sure will work in the long run.

Didn't work for St Kilda

Less than most, if you take trade commodities into account (not just salary cap space).
Which that article kind of failed to do. It's easy to mention that you could make a play for Fyfe, but then note that Freo will match any offer and make you trade for him, it becomes irrelevant when you only have a future 1st and 2nd to trade.

So is that the breaking news? Hampton? Bugger, was really liking what he was starting to bring to our midfield

All clubs will have an extra $2-3M to play with this year, when the new CBA goes through.

However, they have no trade commodities left, so they'll probably be limited to signing free agents.
Do you think we've already allocated a lot of this, back-ending existing recent contracts with proportional increases, or will we have room to beef up our offers to McGovern (e.g.)?

On a dreary wet day Port board delivers...

"Todd Marshall is going to be the dominant key forward of this generation. Better than everyone. He's like a switched on all the time Westhoff..."

They still haven't figured out that Westhoff actually is always switched on but that he's just s**t?

Don't know much of the kid, but they'd want to be hoping he's much better than that spud.
