i can’t help but feel our list management team has lost the plot wasting time on this Daniher trade. We have a lot of needs in which a key forward is not one. We finally have high end draft picks to properly address our midfield and look set to lose them. Is the marketing team now running recruitment

The only article i read today that had some credibility about possible players was the Jake Niall one.

Which said Essendon have put the onus on Sydney and, more concerningly, TLA (Daniher's management) to come up with a suitable player to include in the trade.

The reason it is concerning is that the only Sydney TLA players who could conceivably excite Essendon in a trade are Rowbottom and Dawson. Not even for a straight swap with no picks would I consider one of those 2.

But it could be a real pain if management companies insert themselves into discussions.

I'm not an anti-Reidist but when I read this I thought "great idea". He has done a few good things over the years in between not doing very much. Great that we offloaded Gary last year and if we get Joe D we'll be far too tall. Tommy Mc can be our tall athletic swingman for the next decade, so I'm all for making Reid Essendon's problem.

True, he might find some rejuvenation in Melbourne and wanna go? That would be best as he will not fit if Daniher becomes a Swan in 2021.
Was delighted Rohan found some form (same would be for S Reid?) but is unfortunately like a deer (Bambi) in the headlights on the games that matter.

Sit back and wait. If Joe is REALLY serious we get a proven committed commodity in 2021

If not, then we do the best from the draft ( don't waste the rare opportunity to be high in the order)

Typical click bait article, no where has Sydney said they'd let Reid go, the headline suggesting it are all John Ralph's words, complete crap.

5, 9 & Reid is more than was traded for Judd in his prime and fit. This is becoming more stupid by the hour, who would want to go to Essendon? Might not play finals for another decade with their ordinary ageing list and you'd have tossers like Stringer and Hurley as team mates plus a heap of up themselves kids with blonded hair - sheesh!

Reid can be frustrating, but he isnt a player that I would just giving away for free as steak knives in order to get Essendon to agree to an already ridiculous trade package (5 + 9).

He also has to agree, this is absurd.

I think some of the rhetoric around this draft is getting a little out of hand.

I've probably been reading all the various draft threads and articles that everyone else has, and the general consensus seems to be that it is pretty good just not as good as the last couple of years (last year may end up being spoken about along with the 2001 draft as the best ever).

Dalrymple's words were 'it is a little light on for top end talent'. He seems like a very understated guy, so I wasnt totally sure what to make of it.

I'm sure it meant we would use the 5 to get us a fit Daniher along with something else should we need to. Tbe Bombers want 5, 9 if we sell Papley & something/one else.
