It's not just the failure to pick-up Daniher. The list went backwards AGAIN. Like it has every year since 2013.

While I’m comfortable with our stance re Daniher I am disappointed with our apparent (and I stress ‘apparent’ as I don’t know what was happening behind the scenes) lack of any Plan B. We must have known that Essendon would be no push over and that there was a real chance that a deal wouldn’t get struck, yet we don’t appear to have had alternative targets that would address other needs, like our midfield.

So we ask did the former six make a better fist than the lower list of players. Of course not.They were not there. In the meantime we have filled 10 young men with over a hundred games and Cunningham & Reid are more aware of their own extra efforts and input.
