It’s called an opinion, that’s what forums are for. People are allowed difference of opinion. I said “people are wearing rose coloured glasses” If can’t handle that get a grip mate that’s pathetic. If you’re sick of robust discussion as you say you are then piss off and don’t tag me.
I addressed it in my comment. You were merely the most recent.

Lol to the rest.

They've also lost Cameron, Williams, Corr, Caldwell, Hately and Langdon.

Pruess cancels out Jacobs retirement

Hogan has been terrible for 2 seasons.

So all in all I don't think they've improved their list at all.
As I posted earlier:
In the last four season GWS have lost the following players to other clubs through trade or free agency:

Treloar, Lamb, Phillips, Plowman, Sumner, McCarthy, Steele, Ahern, Stewart, Hoskin-Elliot, Marchbank, Pickett, Smith, Wilson, Kennedy, Setterfield, Scully, Lobb, Shiel, Tomlinson, Patton, Bonar, Corr, Williams

They have already lost a couple of players this off-season as free agents, and also have Cameron wanting to go to Geelong and Hately and Caldwell requesting trades.

On the other hand, we have lost:
Mitchell, Nankervis, Murray, Rohan, Hannebery, Newman, Jones, Cameron

And then you and others on here wonder why GWS is in a position to make more attractive offers to players? They are desperately filling multiple gaps in their best 22 every single season.

GWS have been going backwards every season in the last few. They have lost much more quality than they have brought in.

Wasn’t as dominant as Logan McDonald was in the WAFL. Just held his own (which is still good).

What position is right? Ruck or Fwd?

Not an accumulator.

Injury history - including groin which is a worry.
Thanks... With the Ruck or Fwd thing, isn't that down to where he played in that team, and ultimately the responsibility of that coach? If we took him, and he played to the level of Tippet in 2015/16, would you be happy with that outcome?

History of groin injury might be a significant deterrent... wonder if he'll slide?

And iyo, are any of the top 5 likely to play round 1?

It is, and he played forward in SANFL predominantly, but he didn’t dominate.

I think if he was peak Tippett you’d take it for sure. Thing is between the injuries and lack of clarity on best position it’s a risk

Hollands if fit plays rd 1

McDonald reminds me of gumbleton in his draft year. Mcdonald and McCartin Could form solid book ends for a decade together.
If bidding permits I would like to see us live swap pick 6 or 7 with Essendon for our first pick next year (which could otherwise go into deficit).
Leave this draft with 2 promising kids, 2 promising academy kids before using the following couple of years to put some bigger experience around them.

McDonald played a season in the WAFL seniors & was the leading goal kicker.

No way he’s Gumble-esque.

I could always ask Geelong how continually topping up their list with quality senior players helped them just play a GF.

Or I could asked Brisbane how bringing Hodgey, Lachie Neale and Charlie Cameron into a bottom 4 team has worked out for them.

What about Richmond? Finished 13th and got flogged by 100 in the last round of 2016 then went out and recruited Toby, Prestia and Caddy who each just won their 3rd flag.

Heeney
Mills
Lloyd
Parker
Rampe
Buddy
JPK

All genuine A-graders either in their prime, or on the other side but still good enough to be part of a premiership team.

We should be trying to compete now.
Some are suggesting it's another 5 years before we can contend again whereby it will be after JPK's time together with a few more senior players. These thoughts are coming out solely because of our lack of trading this year.
I don't agree with this personally.
We only have one pick of value this year - 3. From what I have heard of Phillips, he could well be an inside mid bull that will be at the Swans for 10 years or more. All our other picks will will be used up in taking the two academy kids, whom I think would be stupid to say no to. That being said, obviously we will not be a big participant in this year's trade period. How could we be? We've got no picks to trade with.
This time next year is a totally different story. We should be looking at using our round 1 and round 2 picks on trading in the senior players we need most. We should also have the cash up our sleeve to offer huge contracts to whatever free agent we see as a best fit. I see us having a mega influx of senior talent in 2022 enabling us to make a rise such as Brisbane has done recently.
It's just that circumstances being as they are, this is not the year. That doesn't mean that this will always be the case.
As I've said on a few occasions, you don't build a list overnight. For those who have stated that we have been in a rebuild since 2016 and we should be further advanced than where we are, I cannot agree with this. I believe our rebuild started in 2018/19 so waiting until 2022 for our side to be contending again is not too bad imo.
Just let the people who have had us as finalists for 15 of the past 17 years do their job. I have no doubt they know what they are doing.
FWIW - Criticising our list managers for picks who have not become the players we hoped they would is completely unfair. Everyone is wise after the event. Selecting 18 year old footballers and forecasting how good they will be in 5 years time is not an exacting science. If it was, we wouldn't have any rookies turn into club champions/captains.

Surely its becoming clear we are rebuilding through the draft
