I still think trading our future first is in play for this draft.

Just listened to a podcast where Adrian Dodoro this morning said that Ned Guy worked really hard to work a 3 way trade (Dogs/Ess/Pies) that would have involved our future first and resulted in Treloar to Dogs & Dunkley to Dons. The deal was knocked back by Sam Power. I think it would have resulted in us getting one of 6,7 or 8 from Essendon. I think the Dogs would have knocked back a future first as it wouldn't have given them the points this year for JUH. Hence why they bent us over for 26,33,42 for 14.

Crows have 9,23,23

Bombers have 6,7,8

Reckon Crows might consider moving back 5 spots if there’s a local kid they think will still be there at 14 over 9.

Yep. Meant Crows but wrote Essendon! Still can’t handle the fact they got 6,7 and 8.

Pick 8 for an uncontracted Saad... Say what you will about the Dodo, but at least he refuses to let clubs go in dry.

I really hope Hine can liven the mood around here with some really solid picks this year. Some good kids are floating around this year imo.

Until yesterday I would have thought my favourite of the draft in Cook, was a surplus of needs. But with Stevo gone I think he’s one we should definitely be targeting.

I am not super keen on Reid or Cox but out of the two, Cox has the more talent imo, but I think his best position will be an intercept defender in the AFL. Both need to put a lot of size on.

If we somehow magically get into the top 10, Phillips would be the one that I’d hope to snag, but probably need a top 6 pick.

Doubt we get a pick for Phillips.
Cook, Callow, Reid, McInnes please and thanks

We need to trade 16 and the future first to Essendon for 8 and 29.

By the way Pie 4 Life can you confirm that Will Phillips will be the best player in this draft bar none...
He will be the safest selection. Long-term JUH, Hollands and Bruhn are all amongst my personal favourites to take that title but Phillips is your lock and loaded 200-gamers and not far off Rowell in terms of output.

Tom Browne reported we are going to look to trade our three 1sts, 14, 16 & next years 1st to get up into the top 10 on trade night and he stated we are after a key forward.....Go to North for pick 2???

Doesn't matter if we're only aspiring for pick 8 (likely pick 10 after bid matches). Phillips will be long gone by then.

I can't even begin to explain how bad an idea this would be if we're only gunning for the one first round pick outside of the top 5.

Our only hope is the AFL potentially allowing another 24 hour trade period as has been rumoured - we could aim for the Suns Pick 5 + 27 + Brodie (or whoever) for our three first round picks. Might be a bit ambitious, but at least something like that would dull the sting of the trade period reaming we just walked into a little, as we'd get a top level draftee this year, a pick to help match a bid on Reef this year, and another player who would be ready to go in 2021.

What if it was pick 2? Just have to make sure Crows don't take Logan Mac.

Do you honestly think North would even consider giving away pick 2, even if they were given another chance to ream us in an epic fashion again?

If our ultimate goal is going all in and throwing three best 22 players and our next two first round draft picks at a single early draft pick this year which may or may not get us Logan McDonald, who in turn may or may not pan out to be the generational KPF we'd be hoping for without being any sort of flight risk then the answer is no, I'm not keen.

If we could do better than just pick 2 then maybe, but we'd need something to help match a bid on Reef and (preferably) bring in a player who might fill a list need, given that we would be giving away three first round picks.

So we’ll have traded Treloar, Stephenson, Atu, Phillips and both this year and next years first rounders for an untried key forward....

**** this kid had better be worth it......

There it is, ladies and gentlemen. Will Phillips is our man! We need him to get involved in some bar fights ASAP.
