They want Gibcus but see no need to spend pick 2 on him?All the talk of GWS trading pick 2 has come from outside sources. I can't recall ever once seeing GWS say pick 2 was on the table, unlike Crows have done with 4.

Perhaps if one of your 4 cats scratched your Adelle and Buble CDs.
I'll bring Taylor Swift to the pub of your choice.
4 of them couldn't catch a cold if the opposition get a hold of it from the centre square, though are quite good at most everything else. If we drafted a tall, athletic mid with pace then that'd be fine by me.We typically have three mids dominate our inside rotations every year, and we have double that with six players* worthy of having that major role. Yet people are worried about what happens if one of them gets injured.
We're more likely to move Heeney in off a flank or wing, or Florent in from the outside, or give more minutes to Rowbottom or Warner, or try Gulden in there, than we are to give inside rotations to Clarke, Taylor or the 18 year olds we will draft. So if a Mills or a Parker went down with injury, the issue wouldn't be who replaces them on the inside; it would be who replaces their replacements on the wing/half back/half forward flanks. We already have too many players wanting inside minutes than we can actually fit in there - whoever we draft will just join that lengthy queue. This will make them a handy asset long-term, but not much of a factor next year I'd say.
*My six are JPK, Parker, Heeney, Mills, Rowbottom and Warner.

Time tonight?
Are you just partial to talls generally?4 of them couldn't catch a cold if the opposition get a hold of it from the centre square, though are quite good at most everything else. If we drafted a tall, athletic mid with pace then that'd be fine by me.
I can see it now - Taylor Swift’s new album titled “Bears n’ Bandicoots”.I'll bring Taylor Swift to the pub of your choice.
Writeups say he can play on a wing too. Basically it sounds like he's a taller, quicker Lloyd. If he can use those attributes, and even approach Lloyd's workrate and positioning, he'd be worth it. But it sounds like others who could also play outside/flank roles and possibly develop a contested game further like Wilmot, Chesser and Taylor are better options. Maybe they're seen as higher risk/reward, but I think we can afford it.Could be a good call. He doesn't excite me and I'd find it baffling if we picked someone like him over a supreme talent like a Sonsie or a Chesser if available. But I also care less about this draft than in recent years, mainly because it doesn't feel as essential. I think we already have the nucleus of a flag-winning side (save for a key defender and my concerns about ongoing player retention.) I also think we have an abundance of dynamic, incredibly gifted players, and what they probably need around them more than anything are some guys who will do the basics well, play selfless roles and do the things that aren't always glamorous. That sounds like Brown.
My only query would be where he plays. Not tall enough to be a key defender, so probably only makes it for his ball use off half back.

Kinnear tells clubs if the Swans will bid.. and has asked for the same respect in return.Giants informed the Bulldogs they will bid on Darcy pick 2.
A) the rippling trades that will result of this basically constitutes draft tampering
B) why the fu** even tell them? Do you want the player or not?
Next years draft retirements and draft/trade will truly shape our team. It will be a massive reshape. Exciting times.
Edit:
Retirements
Sinclair
Naismith
Kennedy
the other Taylor
Ronke?
Buddy?
Rampe?
and we have 2 first rounders and academy kids.
I think Buddy goes again for, he’s better be playing for just petrol money though.Blasphemy to even suggest it.
Petrol money + enough for a few extra hard rubbish collections, probably get him excited enough to go around again.I think Buddy goes again for, he’s better be playing for just petrol money though.

This is the draft and trade period of the century. McDonald, Campbell, Gulden and Jesus himself!! Throw in steak knives in a blonde academy kid and it does not get much better.
When do you draft/trade 4 players who have the credentials to just walk straight into your best 22.
They did.
I thought then that every good has a bad. Just like I think every cloud has a silver lining. The yin and the yang,
What effect on the team does this have?
Hewett and the other guy leaving I did not envisage.
An average draft haul the following year I did.
Swings and roundabouts.

After I posted what I posted I looked back to cover my arse.I would argue as good as the 2020 off-season was to us, the 2018 one was even better. It netted us five players who, if Blakey wasn't injured, all would've been in our elimination final side. Just an unbelievable haul. But it was in between two off-seasons that have, so far, not netted us much. So maybe you are right. With every boom there's a kaboom.
This year has so far been more bust than boom, losing two best 22 players. We can ease the pain a little better with a good draft haul, and thankfully we have more picks in the "Swans range" (ie. outside the first round)
After I posted what I posted I looked back to cover my arse.
Then I looked at 2018
We drafted
Blakey
Rowbottom
McInerney
and Wicks as a rookie
another 4 best 25 players.
If we are not in line for a premiership period then Hickey is not Jesus.
It is thoughBut its not draft tampering if we do it
except in possible future negotiationsI would have thought draft tampering only counts if the club benefits from it. Giants announcing they will bid on Darcy doesn't benefit them in any way.
