More Change Afoot in the Mile High City?

Sean Payton has been hired in Denver, and now, the new ownership group will look to reset after a less-than-stellar 2022 season for the Broncos. In the transfer of new ownership, general manager George Paton was retained but was given less power in the coaching search.

Now, two league sources who spoke to Pro Football Network are wondering just how patient new ownership will be with Paton. In fact, another source — this one from Denver — agreed that Paton’s job could be affected with Payton now the head coach.

As was put to PFN by a source here at the Senior Bowl — in just over ten months, the Denver Broncos traded three first-round picks, three second-round picks, and agreed to contracts worth over $340 million for two people — Russell Wilson and Sean Payton.
Didn't General George Patton die in Europe?
He's burried in Luxembourg?

Sounds like Irsay was just getting on the gear and chewing candidates ears off. The Colts job isn't good enough to sit thru 12 hour interviews and needing to do 3 of them.

As in one candidate was interviewed for 12 hours straight?! Absolutely * that.
I think its more of a case of a series of event that go for 12 hours (i.e. the coach does a presentation on what they would do schematically etc, then there is the proper "interview", lunch with the owner, meetings with members of the front office or whatever etc) so that they can get a better idea of the person, how they fit with the organisation etc.

I can't imagine that there would be a typical interview with the candidate being grilled by a panel of people for that long

I think the Colts are just trying to legitimize hiring Saturday by conducting an exhaustive search, so they can say Saturday was better than all of them, we really did cast a wide bet, yada yada

Or, they went in wanting to hire Saturday, but have realised the fan base would riot so have had to change up the plans mid coaching search, hence all the interviews.

I am the belief that Irsay wants to hire Saturday so bad his making the interview process as hard as possible so alot of candidates drop out who is going to do 3x 12 hrs interview for a s**t job with terrible gm and owner. Thus Irsay hopes after 3rd round only Saturday will be willing to do a 4th round thus he can hire him and say to fans Saturday was only one who could get thru our process.

The San Francisco Chronicle's Michael Silver reports Broncos HC Sean Payton will meet with DC Ejiro Evero to discuss the possibility of Evero remaining with the team in 2023.

Evero is still in the running for at least two head coaching jobs, while the Vikings hope to speak with him about their defensive coordinator vacancy. Evero is still under contract with the Broncos for 2023, and Payton would be wise to retain him if possible. His defense proved to be one of the few bright spots in Denver last season, which spurred several teams' interest in bringing him on board. It's possible we know more about Evero's future with the Broncos by the end of the week.

Not a good career move. If Offense fails he cops the blame ...if they succeed Reich gets pats on the back.

More on this , apparently Duce's mother is sick and he wanted to be closer to her, despite being under contract, the pay being no better than what he was on and the Lions wanting to keep him, the Lions granted him permission to take a job with Carolina. Classy organisation.

Ravens interviewed ex-Bucs OC Byron Leftwich for their offensive coordinator job.

The Bucs' offensive coordinator since 2019, Leftwich was fired from Tampa following the team's Wild Card loss to Dallas. Leftwich had interest as a head coach last offseason but Baltimore is the only team that's shown interest in him after coordinating an offense that ranked 25th in points per game (18.4) this past year. Vikings TE coach Brian Angelichio, Broncos OC Justin Outten, Seahawks QB coach Dave Canales, and Georgia OC Todd Monken all have second interviews with the Ravens.

Ravens granted a second interview to George offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the team's offensive coordinator vacancy.

Monken shapes up as the lead candidate to lead Baltimore's offense after the Ravens parted ways with Greg Roman in January. An NFL offensive coordinator for three seasons, Monken has rehabbed his value with back-to-back titles for Georgia after leaving the Browns in 2019. Cleveland was 21st in EPA per play in 2019 with Baker Mayfield at the helm. Monken has also interviewed for the Bucs OC opening -- a job that became far less appealing when Tom Brady retired on Monday. The Ravens are also giving a second interview to Seahawks quarterbacks coach Dave Canales. Assuming Lamar Jackson re-signs with the Ravens, the Baltimore OC gig will be among the most sought-after jobs in the league this offseason.
