AFL Club
Adelaide
Has anyone noticed how we have been set up with two away games in a row. Adelaide plays the West Coast on the Saturday, 9/8/03 and then has to front up to the Woods at Telstra on the Friday night, 15/8/03. What happened to the idea you play at home after going to the west? How did the AFC not notice this anomaly at the start of the year? Still it won't matter, by then the Crows will be in full flight .

That will be a tough one as up until now the Subiaco factor still applies - no team has won the week after playing at Subiaco.

This is a farcical piece of programming by the AFL.

I noticed this glitch in the draw about 3 weeks ago. Not good but what can you do?

On the plus side, and it's only minor consolation but nevertheless, Collingwood play Brisbane at the G the week before, so at least they'll have a tough, hard hitout as well....though they'll still have a distinct advantage.

Not good planning by the AFL at all. It should never happen. I think everyone will agree that a team should play the following week at home if they happen to travel to Sydney, Brisbane and Perth the week before.

I am confident we can pinch one win at Subiaco this year.;)

We can Stiffy. I honestly believe that barring no major injuries we WILL win the Freo game. I'm not getting ahead of myself - I just think we have the right players in the right spot to beat Freo.

The Coasters will be very hard to beat over there. We have done it before and while I'm not discounting our chances in that one, it'll be a big one if we can do it.

We should get at least the one though.

I agree mate. If you look at a number of games at Subiaco this year, there was not much in it. Geelong nearly beat Eagles, Doggies drew, Roos just lost albeit in the wet. With hopefully keeping the current side on the park and adding a fit Steveo and Bode, I would be very confident of pinching one or maybe even 2 games at Subi.

I rate both WC and Freo highly but, I think Freo cannot sustain it as they are a very young side and WC have major weaknesses down the spine. If we have close to full strength team we should be able to expose their weaknesses.;)

Providing the Pies beat us, they'd be having to do a lot of work because they have a few danger games before and after us.

Still not putting my expectations too high for the closing rounds of the season, but I'll be interested to see how the side fairs during the huge test it'll go through during it.

Has anyone else noticed that the Pies have a very favourable draw? The play the team who travelled to WA the previous week more often than any other team ... & no team has won the week after travelling back from the West! It will be a disgraceful effort given this & their MCG/TD draw if they miss out on finals.

If we can win one of the Perth games(leaning in favour of the Freo match) and the game against Collingwood win our remaining home games:

Richmond win

Essendon win

Sydney should win

Kangaroos win

and even see if/hope we can pinch the Showdown

we should finish top four, but like others I am pretty concerned about this West Coast/Collingwood bull****

Eddie McChins should pull his head in for once and just have a look how well his club does with the draw they only have to travel three times this year the least of any AFL club and mind consisted of a trip to Brisbane and two trips to Adelaide ohh gee they have it real tough dont they:rolleyes:

Look at Richmonds last two weeks had to travel to Brisbane last week and this week they are coming over to play us,now that would never happen to Collingwood:rolleyes:

We can't lose.

I have never seen the Crows lose in Melbourne.

There's a first time for everything though!

Go South had never seen the Crows lose in Melbourne until a couple years ago :(

Disagree, my chances of a foursome with Cameron Lucy and Drew are very limited.

This is why I pick and chose my matches

4 for 4

97 prelim
98 grand
v Hawks (4 point win at Waverly)
v Richmond (9 goal third quarter)

Swings and roundabouts. Our opponents this week are coming off a trip to Brisbane.

Yep, I'll be there too and the same rules applies.

5 from 5 for me.
