A hilarious glitch in Pro Mode:

My character is selected for both Vic sides. The game things I am Metro on the menu. Game thinks I am Metro on the ground. Camera thinks I am Country. So I can control my player from the view of someone else.
Had that one happen to me too, changed the side selection and was fine. Gave me the wrong stats though

Why on earth can't you quickly change tactics during play without having possession of the ball? Once I get the ball, the last thing I want to be concentrating on is fiddling with the D-pad.
Yeah this is such a dumb decision. I laughed when I saw that little tip on a loading screen. You get barely any time to make an actual football decision, let alone team management.

Maybe that's why I got drafted at 42 because I had the duplicate glitch and ended up playing every Metro and Country game in the championships.

Ok, I'll bite. The Camera is actually the hardest part to get right when making an AFL game. For the same reasons I often can't stand watching the game on TV, so many cameos when I just want to see what's off the ball! (Clubs use the behind the goals vision almost 100% of the time for their coaching/analysis.)

Just about every other sport has an offside rule that keeps the players just off the ball in focus, much easier to deal with, especially RU, RL, NFL, camera right at the play/line of scrimmage. AFL is not a TV friendy sport.

Without giving away any potential AFL Live 2* ideas, could you say what your ideal AFL video game camera angle would be? I've recall you discuss the difficulties of it many times, but I don't remember ever reading what you thought would be optimal.

Yeah it’s a tough one.
I like the idea of a smooth zoom out with some logic around it (not just when you have possession...or about to kick...but maybe if it knows you’re in possession and it’s not a scrap).

People seem to like End-to-End because of the off-the-ball view... but the swivel on turnover is frustrating...which is why I like ‘Play Direction’ for the happy medium.

It's not something we ever solved, TV hasn't either, my thoughts are we need to have a "camera creator" that allows a user to totally change the camera system based on play/position/etc. - I'd add it as User shareable to the Academy. We talked of even having picture in picture renders to follow a particular player, the stuff that TV has tried and failed a lot of the time. The crux is that there is no camera for everyone - a bit like everyone has a favourite seat, I like Q17 row 5'ish, others like M, which I guess has to be for atmosphere because it's just too tough to see accross the field!

Anyone found a solution with the set shots being piss easy. I have been trying to purposely kick the ball in the orange timing and aiming to the right to get a unexpected result
I've removed the set shot bar and increased wind effects, makes them slightly harder but still making most. Also when I'm within ~20m of the goal instead of pressing O to begin the set shot animation I've been pressing x to kick after they've pushed back on the mark and they'll just shoot on goal.

I think WW have done as much as they can with the camera, it's pretty customisable. They can fiddle, but as has been said, it'll never be perfect no matter who the developer is given the nature of the sport.

There's a lot more they can fix pretty easily one would imagine where they should be focusing their time and attention.

Seemed to be getting an issue with custom teams.

Downloaded some custom teams from the community, eg. Hawthorn 2014. The player update caused some of the players to revert back to I guess the original models whoever made the team used? Like Shannon Hurn and Nat Fyfe were on the team all of a sudden, whereas Sam Mitchell was not, so I guess they used an in-game player as a model for Sam Mitchell?

Anyways, I deleted the team. I did this with a few custom teams that had this issue. Now I can't re-download that particular team (or Essendon 2000 or the All-Stars Bushfire custom team) because the game says I've already saved them. I've had no issue re-downloading some other teams (Collingwood 2010, Geelong 2007, All-Aus teams from 2017/18/19). So no idea why it's not allowing me to grab the other teams?

Not a huge issue, but a minor annoyance. FTR I can't even download Sam Mitchell as a singular player, as it says I've already saved him. He's not anywhere in any team/custom player/delist list. :/

If any WW devs are here, can you fix this? I'm reluctant to just reset the entire lists in case it stuffs up me downloading the other teams I've set up how I've liked (ie. all the state sides I've got setup now and an All-Star Legends I've downloaded and setup... no way do I want to lose any of those).

Have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this game. I think I over-tinkered with the sliders and got to a point where that God-mode the oppo went into was most of the game, even on Senior mode. I've since set the User Tackle Distance back to 50 (left the AI one at 25) and reduced the AI long distance kicking to 30 (to stop the bullshit one-step goals from outside 50). Feels like it's gone the other way now, put it up to All-Australian and still smashing teams. I don't know why, but since changing that one kick setting (long distance) they've now started kicking OOTF a lot, even at shorter distances.

Few other small bug bears - AI can run full pace and soccer the ball behind them, getting pinged for a throw despite kicking it, getting outmarked despite being in the better position and timing it right (sometimes my player doesn't even attempt the spoil).

By now I'm pretty comfortable with my customized dynamic setting. But if you could just move the camera with the bloody right stick after marks and free kicks I'd be so much happier

Any marking tips?

This seems to happen a lot with long balls into my defence. I'll be leading the forward by 2/3 metres to the blue circle. I'll press triangle and get a green circle, and clearly be in the best position. Then, the forward will slide/teleport right behind me and somehow take the mark in-front-of/through me, despite me being in a better position and having a green circle above my head.

This happens a lot, but is it me? I can't see any further marking tips that will assist me.

Are you using the brace button ?

Just on marking in general, i find it's better to go about it much like you would in real life, rather than looking to bump your opponent in the contest, it's better to use the sticks to slowly push against them
Jostling in the marking contest is pretty important, a lot of people are talking about getting pinged for the charge after using the bump but I find it's more effective to try to edge your opponent out of position using the sticks

I'll try giving that a go. It kinda feels like a situation where I shouldn't need brace, because I'm in that much of a better looking position it should be my mark 9.5/10 anyway, but clearly that's not the case obviously haha.

Updated player ratings:

Initial thoughts - ROB and Rowell 78 and 71; at least 4 points too low each. GWS has a logjam of guys at 90 which needs to be sorted and I'd bump JPK up to 90. Maybe higher - most underrated guy in the comp

Until WW have some sort of official bug feedback system, with a forum or bug submit page, I doubt a lot of the bugs being listed here will get fixed properly.
Just asking for them to be posted to Facebook is ridiculous and amatuerish tbh, they need to help us help them to fix the bugs.
Also not having someone from the company be a point of contact on these forums I believe, is a mistake, they need to be involved with their playerbase and getting our feedback.
They will get enough sales regardless, with everyone being stuck inside and bored, to get a crack at Evo3.
I just hope they can hear our feedback and take it another step forward again.

I emailed them directly - info@wicked-witch.com.au

No idea if it will help them fix stuff but it feels a bit more legit than listing on Facebook
