The scheduled Round Six match between Collingwood and the West Coast Eagles and the scheduled Round 10 match between the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle will be played on Tuesday, February 1.

AFL General Manager Competition Management Laura Kane said while the ongoing pandemic continues to impact the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition, the AFL remains committed to delivering a full season in a safe manner anchored in the advice of respective governments and public health officials.

“We remain committed to completing the season and awarding a Premier and the updates to the fixture aim to provide the competition with greater flexibility as we progress the season,” Ms. Kane said.

“The decision to schedule additional matches to the fixture for Fremantle and the West Coast Eagles was made in close consultation and with strong support from each Club following updates to border restrictions relating to Western Australia.

“We remain cognisant of the outside-football commitments of many players and staff from WA who are currently on the road in Victoria, and we thank them for their commitment and understanding.

“The league will continue to work closely with each club and the AFLPA, and will remain led by the advice of respective state governments and relevant health authorities as we work through arrangements for the coming rounds. I want to thank the AFLPA for working with us to provide the flexibility required to progress the season.

“Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs will participate in the additional games with the Magpies to have a five-day break between their Round Four game and their match-up against the Eagles next Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are ready to return for Round Four after two weeks of no matches due to AFL Health and Safety Protocols.

“For the time being, the fixture remains a week-to-week proposition, and as such, we want to thank every AFLW Club, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticketing agents and all supporters for their understanding.”

Ticketing Update
  • For supporters who have purchased tickets to matches in Round Four, those tickets remain valid. The Ticketing Agent will be in contact should any ticket purchaser wish to receive a refund.

They've been completely fustigated.

You do wonder (and this applies to Collingwood as well who got destroyed) that they might have been beating up on shitty Victorian teams for the first 3 rounds and that's resulted in a few people overrating how good they actually are.
It can't be a good lead in to a tough game away beating up on 3 weak teams. Haven't been tested and commentators saying they've been winning games with a burst of goals over individual quarters rather than sustained excellence.

Yup
Richmond game they were challenged a little but were clearly better, Saints game was pretty much all fourth quarter dominance.

As opposed to Fremantle who have beaten up on a mix of shitty WA, NSW and Victorian teams. But good on them for beating the Pies without Davey, which is a much better team than the Dockers would be without Bowers.

Bit confused. Dees were hyped and the premiership favourites, so their rds 1-3 opponents are relevant. Freo not as highly rated at the moment (as I noted yesterday) and so their fixtures perhaps are being taken into account by this. And it was a dominant win.

Why wouldn't she attack her teammates if she's homophobic as you state. If this is the case she would hate or fear many of her fellow players. Imagine playing with people you hate that are touching or tackling you? Or opposition players? Must be on a good wage to overcome her hatred of the a high percentage of players in her league.
You can be homophobic and not physically act on it. Only a minority do act on it, the problem is is that this helps to normalise homophobia in our society.

Anyway I am done discussing this with you. You are getting hung up on semantics, I am speaking from the community that is being actively discriminated against right now

Nailed it. He gets hung up on semantics and loose definitions but fails to see the bigger picture here. LGBT players deserve a safe space, and the cowards at the AFL/W should hang their heads in shame for not stamping out this homophobe. It sets a terrible precedent.

Yeah i have no idea either. Would have thought based on what has happened so far the coming into this round the four best teams were Melb, Adel, Freo and Coll. I had Adel as the best (but i prob am biased) Melb and Freo some what on par as they both have looked good but had struggled against lesser opposition only to get it done with a good quarter here or there, and Coll as the fourth best team especially with no Davey now.

Looks to me it has played out that way. We probably won't know how Freo and Melb compre till rounds 8 and 9 when Freo plays Adel and then Melb. Assmuing the season is still on track at that stage.

Also, for the last time, homophobia for faith-based reasons is unacceptable. I left my Pentecostal church because of its homophobic stance.
This is where the Left's double standards are sorely exposed. They have no issue with criticising Christianity and some Christians for their stance on homosexuality, but they very rarely challenge Islam and Muslims for their positions. This thread's a perfect example where some have even gone to the extend of defending a blatant homophobe.

I'm not sure those defending homophobia are lefty.

Lol, they deadset smashed them and Freo are generally bog ordinary away from home. Although I suspect living out of a suitcase will catch up in the next couple of weeks.

Melbourne started the season as premiership favourites slightly ahead of Adelaide because of the question around Phillips staying fit. She didn't come into today's game under an injury cloud, hence Adelaide were clear favourites ($1.58 v $2.33 from what I saw) and winners.

Collingwood, coming off a prelim, are getting the same treatment as Carlton got last year. Never among the top 2 or 3 fancied teams, but a lot of people enjoy saying "pffft, why are they favourites?"

Fremantle beat Adelaide by 5 goals last year in SA. So I guess that settles it. Adelaide = overrated.

Disappointing display by the Flag favourites Melbourne need to lift
Can we stop calling them flag favorites now?
Adelaide need a bit more respect they basically have the same core players that got them to 3 grandfinals, and their defence keeps teams to pretty low scores against.
