Preview AFLW Preliminary Final: Adelaide v North Melbourne - Sunday 26 November @ Ikon Park

I've been saying for years that not backing in young players that have gone through a full elite junior pathway will backfire on us.

ALL of our draftees should be playing as often as possible every single year, especially if we're only taking 1-2 18 year olds
Up until this year with Prowse (after being ignored last season) and a lesser extend Mueller and Goodwin you would say only Charlton (who has since stagnated) was the only 18-20 year old player that was properly fast tracked and showed signs of reaching a high level quickly.

The club going after a 36 year old in Bonner in the top-up draft showed all you need to know, wasted exercise playing that 36 year old too, should not be offered a new deal, done nothing someone from the local league couldn’t have done this season.

Bottom line is the level of the AFLW has gone past us.
Where we could dominate through sheer force and effort, now our lack of skills are exposed. North's ability to hit targets on the move is far superior to ours. Brisbane the same.
We have too many players who hack the ball. Players who can't kick. They are all effort, very little skill.

Got to disagree. The level of AFLW has caught up to us. Makes for a more interesting league now that NM, G, GC and S have stepped up a bit. Gotta love that S have done what PA would have us believe they were capable of.

Agreed. In the finals last season we were basically hoping that both Brisbane and Melbourne slipped on a banana peel because otherwise we were no hope against them.

This season we are basically as good as any team, and then it just comes down to moments in the matches. At the end of the day, we were less than a goal behind both grand finallists.

We lost the chance
It started in the first quarter
We don’t deserve to be in the Grand Final
Yeh, their form coming in wasn't great to begin with, and the close games have been typical Crows. Losing it early on and playing 1 good quarter to catch up, but too little too late.

What a disgraceful season.

We only won 10 games and lost three games by a combined total of 3+2+1=6 pts. Despite the usual commentary, from the usual suspects, we lost an away final by one point.

If the Kangas coaching and players were so superior, how does everyone explain the one point margin? Some players were poor today, some played better than expected. That’s finals footy.

I think that because the skill level has gone by a lot of our players.
Hatchard, Randall and Marinoff are all legends. But they don’t have good skills and it’s being exposed now.
Than you throw in our other experienced players like Stevie and it’s a core group that really lack in that area.
We can still be around the mark but we need to surround our core grunt with real speed and skill.
Incredibly tough to do with Port being gifted every good player in SA.

They missed 5 points in a row from 10 I50 entries in the last quarter. They win by a lot more if 2 of them go for goal

We continued that 1 extra handball which got us into trouble when we should be structuring for a kick. The instructions should have been 1 hand ball clear then kick - you then position your self accordingly

So many of our 5th handball then kick went to North players because we didnt set up right

Missing the GF after finishing top is a complete failure and a wasted season.
