GWS v Adelaide
Saturday 23 September
10:35am CST/11:05am EST
Manuka Oval

The one place the mens side didn't visit this season is being covered by the girls - who have a Saturday morning gig in Canberra against GWS. Both encounters against GWS last season were very one sided affairs, with GWS failing to score a goal in either match (and lucky to score at all in the 2nd game).

To be honest, this game could be just as one sided. GWS have been awful this season (even losing to Sydney).

I still can't believe we got beaten by this mob in 2020.

No excuse for this being anything other than a percentage booster.
They were pretty good that year to be fair, Alan McConnell must’ve remembered to take his pills that season, plus that 2020 Crows team as we know was let’s say one of few who actually benefited from COVID19 bringing everything to a close.

Same old story with GWS Alyce Parker is their entire team she’ll get her 25 possessions but other than a couple of other triers won’t get much help, watched some of their previous games they try hard for a burst but fall away dramatically after that, the Crows superior fitness should mean they run all over them in good conditions.

Varnhagan returns to play her first match since the 2021 GF.

Would’ve preferred Kustermann but obviously ‘experience’ with Thompson out playing its part.

McKinnon back for Whiteley as they correct that mistake from last week.

Levy emergency now 2 weeks in a row, still hoping for that debut soon 🤞

10:35am? Are they having a laugh?

They do not take this competition seriously.
I just don't understand it.

The league is honestly doing all it can to kill it. It makes zero sense.

Lets bury half the season in AFL Finals.

Lets play them at suburban grounds when larger stadiums are available. Locking fans out

lets move the season so you lose the ability to play the Grand Finals at larger stadiums. Locking fans out

Lets play the biggest games in particular cities (ie, Adelaide and Sydney) as direct clashes against the biggest day of the year for your largest target audience.

Lets expand the league when the talent isn't there.

Lets push for clubs to introduce teams when they don't want them thinking they'll be a financial drain.

Honestly. It makes zero sense. It honestly feels like the league is actively trying to kill it off themselves. But clubs such as Adelaide and Melbourne who have embraced the women's game are making a profit. And it grows the clubs footprint. So why would the AFL want to kill it? It's almost like they're just simply and utterly incompetent.

In a way, it's like the league is surviving despite the AFL.

Even the latest CBA is to add two more games by 2025, and maybe another two more in 2027 if certain criteria are met.

Saw Deni’s come out with an article today in the Murdoch press 🙄, just waited 3 matches into the season & for 3 injuries to senior players to get a gig so she could get back waiving her picket around again.

She still whinging?
Not as much obviously wants to keep her place on the list, it’s just a totally unnecessary article that the club I’m sure would not necessarily want to be still prattled out in public

You can read the article through reader mode on an iPhone to get around the paywall but like I say it’s just a totally unnecessary fluff piece.

What the * is up with this game's awful time slot?
They want 3 games played on a Saturday and don’t want more than 2 games played at the same time but apparently can’t schedule any after the AFL final on a Saturday night or any games in Perth late on a Sunday 🙄
