Rabada's hearing was marathon one - 6 hours in fact. Maybe this is not as cut and dried as we might have thought.

I’d imagine the two points they will focus on will be the intent side of things - the charge was deliberate contact, so they may have argued along the lines that not trying to avoid something doesn’t equal intent to deliberately do it, along with precedent. So something like the Ben Stokes/Mitchell Johnson one would get a run.

All the hype for this series but only a handful attending.

Let’s hope more than two dozen attend the next test.

It’s the third biggest sport in SA and arguably the third biggest format of it. Port Elizabeth rarely gets big crowds anyway so the second test was never likely to draw big. The third and fourth will be a bit better attended, but something tells me the people of capetown have a slightly more pressing issue at the moment.....

It's called work and school, not everyone get gifted a Test match right in the middle of holidays every year like the Victorians!

Not to mention that this in March, after a number of test matches which have already been held in SA’s home summer. People have work/school

Don't wait for any cold or warm showers after the day's play.

3. Was it intentional, which was what the charge was actually for
4. Is the charge and sentence appropriate given other precedents from both the last week, and the last 5 years.

It's no 3 that would be the biggie. He's got too many demerit points and previous on this particular issue to start dragging in other player's behaviour with much credibility.

No 3 could keep spokespeople occupied for days.

Not so much other players but other precedents.

When Stokes and Johnson bumped shoulders - and it was pretty obvious that both could have avoided it - they were given 1 point each. What might hurt their use of that argument is that they bumped during play rather than after a wicket.
