Heard on SEN that Murphy is now out for the year. Disappointing for a 3-4 week mid season injury.

Does anyone have an idea how bad his ankle is? Just a niggle that will heal completely with rest over the off season or is this a Daisy Thomas type situation?

It's just management because it's a supporting ligament rather than one involved expressly in joint movement.

He should be fine by pre-season.

So Murphy has missed 12 weeks with an ankle ligament sprain. As someone who has had every ankle issue under the sun, that doesnt smell right at all. 12 weeks is more consistent with a broken leg. Even the worst ligament problem should be 6-8 weeks, max.

Either there is something they are not telling us (which is piss poor by the club) or they have horribly mismanaged this (which is also piss poor).

Have you had a high sprain? It's the connective tissue that binds the lower leg bones together at the base.

It's still difficult to change directions and load my ankle after having a high ankle sprain/syndesmotic injury at least 3 months ago from ice skating.

Now imagine an AFL player loading their ankles to change direction.

These high ankle sprains are an absolute pain and quite different to a garden variety ankle sprain.

Still skating though. :)

Bi-O-Gland

Murphy - Out for season
ECurnow - 4 weeks
Silvagni - Test

No-one else injured. That's terrific...
Kerridge? Smith? Whiley?

Is Macca still presenting these?

Not the most engaging reporting style.

Guy O Bland........ Too harsh?

If Murph's ankle injury is similar to the injury Dale Thomas had, it could go on and on into next season.:(
