Was listening to this terrible show on Triple M called "Chaz & Dom from the Chaser" and heard a snippet of Brett Lee's attempt at singing - targeting an Indian audience

Does Brett have what it takes to be a star in India and will this extend his Test career by a number of years due to his marketability?

It might extend his income but I doubt any Aussie's cricket career would be based around marketing. Maybe the Indians would extend that courtesy to their stars though. They fete them big time and they don't always perform accordingly.

I heard in the cab to Avalon that it is #4 in India. That is a truckload of sales.

Good on him good to see not obsessed with cricket.

1) Chas and Dom are funny.
2) I hope this is a parody on the amount of threads on this board currently covering this.

Brett Lee's song zooms up Indian charts
Friday Jan 12 14:58 AEDT

A lilting romantic duet written and sung by Australian cricket star Brett Lee has climbed to number three on the Indian charts, the album's composer said.

Lee wrote the lyrics of You're The One For Me - which he performs with legendary Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle - in 30 minutes after a cricket practice session with his team during the Champions Trophy tournament in India in November.

The song, partly in Hindi, is about a Westerner trying to woo an Indian beauty. The song's video, shot in under three hours, has Lee playing guitar and singing to an Indian girl working in an office.

"We had a great time recording the music," composer Samir Tandon told Reuters. "As a musician he is nothing like the aggressive fast bowler that he is on the field. He is extremely polite."

The song climbed to number three this week on the music charts of popular FM station Radio City, which broadcasts in several Indian cities.

The song, in which the blond Lee speaks a smattering of Hindi as well, also figured in the top four of many newspaper and magazine rankings, Tandon said.

Lee has reportedly said recording the song with Bhosle was an "amazing" experience, calling the Indian singer, who has sung some 13,000 numbers, the "Aretha Franklin of India".

For Bhosle, it was not only a chance to meet a famous cricketer but one with a knowledge of music.

"My family has always followed cricket avidly, so recording with Brett Lee was exciting," Bhosle told Reuters. "He is a charming person."

For decades Bhosle, and her more illustrious sister Lata Mangeshkar, have captivated the imagination of music lovers in India, rendering thousands of hit songs  for Bollywood and other Indian language films.

Lee, who plays in the band Six & Out with former New South Wales state teammates, has also been offered roles in Bollywood films, but he has turned them down because of cricket commitments, the Times newspaper reported in London this week.

He is not the best ODI bowler in the world by a long way. Far from it.

Great average, not so great SR.

Bracken and McGrath are better.

Foolish, maybe have a look at the stats before you start dribbling more garbage.

Check his stats out.

You'll find he's the best ever ODI bowler.

You obviously haven't read McGraths. There have been plenty of bowlers better than Lee as one day bowler. Econ rate is a big thing to take into consideration.

Bracken averages 20.34 and has an econ rate of 4.38

McGrath averages 22.36 and has an econ rate of 3.83 (stunning!!)

Lee averages 22.45 and has an econ rate of 4.69.

So your little Binger idol isn't even the best ODI bowler currently in the Aussie team.

Stats don't lie!

And as for his Test numbers AVERAGE at best.
