Yep awesome line up tonightBickley said on the radio tonight that although Crouch will play a lot of footy this year, they couldn't "squeeze" him into this weeks lineup because it was so strong.....
Now, that shits me for two reasons. If you know he'll be playing a lot this year, then why not from Round 1?
Secondly, it's almost impossible for them to leave him out now after tonight's performance, which means some poor bastard is going to be dropped after one game, and that isn't right either.
Bicks answered the question like we were a triple premiership team and couldn't yet find room for a young gun playing great footy. That mentality really pisses me off.
I'd be dropping Martin ahead of Pets, and Pets won't get dropped anyway. Jaensch was ok, he doesn't deserve to be the scapegoat for the poor loss.Assuming Brown is out injured:
Out: Brown, Petrenko
In: Crouch, Tambling
If Brown plays, Tambling doesn't.
You forgot decent foot skills and ability to hit an uncontested target. In: Clearances, tackles & 4 quarter effort.
Well, it will be 7 weeks I think when we next play, so I guess he would have to be some sort of chance. Just depends whether they want to bring him back through the SANFL or not. Also is Smith any chance of being back? The fools on 5AA said he should be, but they don't fill me with much confidence.
Martin had double Petrenkos possession in half the time. He's match fit and can kick a goal. Petrenko might not get dropped, doesn't mean he shouldn't be.I'd be dropping Martin ahead of Pets, and Pets won't get dropped anyway. I would be going:
Out: Brown (inj), Martin
In: Tambling, Crouch (with Jaensch to start as sub)

Yes, I did forget about him.I know this is cathartic but our next game is more than a fortnight away and doing ins and outs now is like predicting what the stripper will look like outside the club in plain clothes.
Also you lovely people are forgetting Ian Callinan.
Yes, I did forget about him.
Why would the stripper be outside the club?

I wonder about this too. I liked our team when some of these blokes weren't superstars and had to prove themselves every week. The Superstar attitude has to go.
I hope tonight has been a reality check for a lot of these guys who seemed to have lined their lockers with the recent "Top 50" lists every journo has written.
Last year we were hungry, time to get that back.
I agree that Riley must come inIn: Clearances, tackles & 4 quarter effort.
To be honest the jenkins hype has baffled me. I have never seen much to suggest he will make it as an afl footballer. Imo he doesn't have the skill, smarts or instinct to be a long term afl footballer..We need to give mckernan 8 games before we completely writ him off because jenkins isn't the answer.I never thought I would say this but, I think its make or break time for McKernan. Id bring him in for Jenkins and play him for about the next 5 games. We got molested in the ruck last night and our forward line really lacked someone bringing the ball to ground. I dont think we have a choice.
