Don't focus on the averages tugga, focus on how they are being achieved. One bloke is training 1 day a week while the other is pretty much doing full training. Given that Cotchin is comfortably ahead of Connors for mine.Averages, averages.
Cotchin has been disappointing this year. Connors is ahead of him.
Fairt enough. I still reckon Cotchin's output has been below what I expected.Don't focus on the averages tugga, focus on how they are being achieved. One bloke is training 1 day a week while the other is pretty much doing full training. Given that Cotchin is comfortably ahead of Connors for mine.
Read below. And 'a taste' is not what we want. We want them to KNOW what they have to get to.Given him a taste of it, has alot of work to do, bring vickery back in imo
So after the outcry of "play the kids" we all want Post to be dropped after one game? One smashing?
Sounds like Wallace, bring him in for a game, get rid of him the week after.
Keep the young guys in for 3/4 weeks at a time so they can find their feet and see what they need to work on. Post and Browne will/should stay in for the next month...hopefully
Long term thinking.

There is an old saying in footy and that is you're only as good as your last game and today Connors was amongst my 3 worst players. With Jackson Tambling Moore Thursfield all a chance to come back in next week, Connors would have to be under some pressure, given he isn't exactly established in the 22 just now.
Outs:
Polo - papers were stamped today IMO.
Nahas - just too small too easily brushed aside
Connors - needs to learn how to play defensively first before he worries about getting a kick.
Ins:
Will update after Coburg plays tomorrow.
Polo i agree nahas i agee, but Connors if you had your way would be an alcoholic again by thursday night. i mean really thats showing the young boy alot, well done boy served your penence turned your life around, almost best on in every game since returning but you played a game that lacked a defensive pressure while we picked the youngest side for the round against the flag favourite with out our arguably three best Mids in Foley cotchin and Jackson, oh thats right also our best two tall defenders as well.
oh please excuse tucky he just turned it over all day and lukey who against used a lack of brains and fumbled all day.
I mean Really!!
OUT: Nahas Polo Macgaune Webborly(Tuck Maybe instead) Browne
In: Jackson white Gouridis Thursfeild Moore
Post will play second ruck, he played in the last quarter there and i believe the club want him to play a L. Brown type role.
DH has already stated that Post gouridis will play at least 3 to 4 games before the season is over.

The first rule of playing backline is to ensure that your opponent has as little impact on the game as possible, not get as many possessions as you can while your opponent also kicks goals. That wasn't happening yesterday and sending him back to Coburg for a week or 2 will reinforce that. If he can't handle being made accountable for a poor game and has to turn to the bottle to deal with it, then you really have to ask has he turned his life around at all.Polo i agree nahas i agee, but Connors if you had your way would be an alcoholic again by thursday night. i mean really thats showing the young boy alot, well done boy served your penence turned your life around, almost best on in every game since returning but you played a game that lacked a defensive pressure while we picked the youngest side for the round against the flag favourite with out our arguably three best Mids in Foley cotchin and Jackson, oh thats right also our best two tall defenders as well.

I believe when Didak really hurt us he was playing on Newman.
King initially lined up on Ball, had a crack at Swan at one stage and probably Pendlebury as well. To be fair to the midget, it was a case of shuffling the chairs on the Titanic today, so you can put your King bashing away for this weekend as he was far from the worse out there today.
geeeshez! you go on about connors!! then you want webberly out??? he was easily in our bests today and you want to reward him with being dropped?
i mean REALLY!!!!!!!!!!

On this years performances i would have Connors ahead of Cotch easy.
No I'm not playing devils advocate. IMO Connors was poor yesterday and with Moore Thursfield coming back he would have to be under some pressure to hold his spot even though he had played well the previous 2 weeks. You must be playing Devils advocate on this RT.Hes had ONE poor game.
Because if you are not you are clueless.
Yes its about zoning and rebounding, but when your opponent has kicked 2 of the first 3 goals and 3 in the first quarter and a half you need to play man on man for a while and forget about kick chasing which is what Connors kept on trying to do. If he wants to truly become a very good player then he needs to realise that sometimes you need to sacrifice your natural game for the good of the team.In the modern Era its about Zoning and rebounding and as a springboard to attack from defence, it doesnt help that for when we were winning we had Jackson and Cotchin applying clearence's and defensive pressue up feild and Thursfeild and MOORE and who also play small and cover each other when we attack from defence and white tagging from our forward line yesterday when almost a quarter of yr side is out.
So as long as he gets 30 odd touches most weeks and gets torn a new one every know and then its ok and he doesn't need anymore development. Connors has been good in his rebounding role, my point is he'll be better when he learns when to go and when to stay and the sooner he learns that lesson the better. And finally if you think that our coaching staff havent seen flaws in his game and havent addressed when playing in the twos and then picking him in the seniors then yr kidding yourself. He wouldnt of got a picked if they beleived in what you were saying, its the modern game.
