I'm choosing to accept we did some good work in negating some of the Hawthorn stars on the weekend. I know Franklin spent some time on the ball but he was not a dominat player. Nor was Rioli, we seem to have worked him out of the game. Their mids beat us but can someone tell me who were the players that kept Mitchell subdued (compared to his usual form)? We seemed to have the right answers for these key Hawthorn players.

Not inexperienced per say but inexperienced in playing together. Knowing each others playing habits and movements.

Other than Rutten and Johncock, the other 4 are playing new roles.

I wouldn't drop Otten. I'd be more prone to look at the midfield and view some of there performances in a much more negative light and that's where you will find your answers to our **** effort Sunday and by then getting an improved effort by Otten.

Some of our midfielder only go one way and this doesn't help the defenders.

Your soooo forgiving this year Slippery. What happened to the angry boy from 2010/2011? Love to get my hands on some of the stuff your taking.

We need to give this inexperienced back six time to gel? Didn't Reilly play the last 7 games last year off the HBF? Hasn't Otten played most of his career as a third man in defence. How much has Doughty played in defence over the last three years? Are you claiming that Rutten is a straight shooting Full Forward and Stiffy is a crumbing forward?

By the time they gel, half of them will be ready to retire.

What about playing the KIDS?

Because our tackling was so bad on the weekend I wouldn't be displeased to see tambling get a run. His attack on the footy is awesome and his tackles generally stick. Can provide run from half back which we are lacking and will have a point to prove.

You accused me a few days of taking Prozac, are you sure you're not the one on the drug?

That's twice in two days where you have made this mistake. Time to increase the dosage.

I think I've made my position on this subject crystal clear by now so if you want my answer, go find it.

Agree with most of these and would put Vince in the outs as well, he doesn't deserve a game to rack up 30 easy touches. Leave Reilly in and drop Bernie, just isn't good enough for a senior mid to be so soft.

Wish one of Bernie questions last week to Tex had been...you are 100kg and built like a brick out house, why do you play like soft **** so often against good teams?
So others have questions on Walker.

I just see the MOB as one big amorphous mass. Slippery, Fiery, Elitey, all just part of the dwarfs.

Tippett is a gun.

We've all been waiting for him to put it together; he isn't there yet (mainly his goal kicking), but everything else... Jesus, he's going to be very, very good.

He's playing like Riewoldt, but 10cm taller - the bloke is almost unstoppable when we give him half a chance.
I would say ONLY his goal kicking. His marks were great something we have been waiting for.Goal kicking can be fixed however others have problems that look like cant be.

Ony one question really.

Is he good enough???? Went ok against weak oppostion but Sunday sheesh.

Didn't he kick 4 goals to basically play an integral part in us winning the round 1 game against the Hawks last season?

Proves he is more than a down hill skier against the shit sides.

He had a shit day, it happens.

TBH, I'm only expecting him to kick about 4-5, and in the scheme of the game, that wont be a bag.

Why isn't that a bag, you say? Due to a smashing in the clearances in our favour, A LOT of ball is going to be flying into our forward line, and Tippett will bash and crash the younger smaller GWS defenders, and will kick between 8-10 goals, I think. Question of accuracy, but it will no doubt be a HUGE confidence booster for him.

What?

He's kicked 5 and 3 against the GC and Western Bulldogs and had a shocker against the Hawks. He can only kick goals against the teams he plays.

Last year, he kicked 4 against the Hawks in a crunch game.

Stop looking for the negative things to post about. FFS, if it's not Walker, it's Vince, or Otten bloody hell.

Jesus Christ, why are you setting him up to fail?

Expecting him to kick between 8 and 10 goals, bloody hell that's outrageous.

Josh Kennedy from the West Coast only kicked 2 goals 1, this round. Did he have a shit game?

Sorry I don't share the love for the same players you do.

If that's how things will be in 2012 let's hope it's not allowed to go on to long.

Playing well against bad sides and playing bad against good and better sides.

I think it's very unfair picking on Bernie and Tex. They had a tough Saturday night night cruisin the clubs (did Jaenschy drive over to join them) and then Sando made them attend a meeting way too early on Sunday morning.

You know we lost by 10 goals right?

It must be amazing to be able to place so much blame on 2 players that are so shit.

I don't see you talking about any other player who played bad footy, therefore, it they are shit, why are you placing some much emphasis on them playing brilliant footy for us to win.

Wouldn't this be the game for Tex, Vince, Reilly, Tippett to really get into good form? A training drill for sure, but practice the execution of the skills should be valuable.

I don't mind resting players but it is a bit early for that. Some of those with niggles and aches (or almost-injuries) could be rested to get 100% and let 3 or 4 of the boys knocking on the door a chance in place of those that might be only just sneaking in ahead of them.
