Every week a handful of yous come on here and say "Cordy to play forward" despite the fact he hasn't played there since a handful of games in 2016. Are you Brian? Ayce? Mrs Cordy?

I’d probaaably rather Jamarra in English/Schache ruck than Young/English

In order of preference -

Martin ruck Tim/Schache/Naughty forward
Sweet ruck Tim/Schache/Naughty forward
Tim ruck, Jamarra/Schache/Naughton forward
Young ruck, Tim/Schache/Naughty forward

Don’t want to go in with just Tim ruck Schache and Naughty forward especially this week without Cody but look any of those options probably won’t be the deciding factor in this game anyway

From the interview it seems like Bevo loves our current structure. Either Young stays in and plays first ruck or Martin does. His answer was a lot more positive about Martin than I thought it would be.
Maybe but he said the same issues are there with Martin as per the last 6 weeks. Also said it came from the media and not the club

My interpretation is that Martin is closer and the Lewie situation isn’t working and we’ll make a change.

kept saying we need stability from the ruck and we haven’t had it. And said if Martin trains and trains well he is considered.

He just had no clue how the media were going with Martin firming and picked it as an assumption

Your logic on this one is pretty unscientific. Of those 67 posts 0% have any specific knowledge of his recent injuries and fitness. The mention of him potentially not getting through a game is only discussed because Bevo kept using it as an excuse for not playing him.

Those who believe two rucks are critical to winning, point to Young’s 50% time on ground as evidence that Martin would be no worse and Sweet better in terms of their ability to contribute, especially with the right medi sub.
Agree with this and would also point out even if there was somehow 99.99% confidence that Martin would break down before 3/4 time, that doesn’t completely invalidate the view that he should play.

People hoping he plays and workshopping who the sub should be are not absent minded of the risk existing, rather they are balancing that risk against the reward.

Conversely, I have huge confidence that Will Hayes could run out the full game - probably more so than anyone else on the list. He’s almost the inverse Martin but no-one suggests he plays, because the reward is not big enough even with such little injury risk.

Bevos message on Stef today was very different to what it was in the week of the essendon game and last week. Doesn’t mean he’s in, but it was different.
I feel like Stef is more of a chance this week than in previous weeks after hearing Bevo today.

I remember those 97 and 98 Prelims, we skipped through from the QF to PF and thought we had it in the bag. At home, good form, week's rest, we had beaten Adelaide comfortably in at least one of the years, Adelaide hit by injuries in 97 at least and then...

Let's also remember two things. 1. We beat Port at AO this year. 2. If Naughton takes that grab in the square in the last five seconds (during our form slump) we win. Don't anyone forget that.
Or alternatively Smith takes two extra steps and it's a goal. Was a big sliding doors moment

Agree...although I don't think Bevo completely ruled Martin out when he was interviewed in Tassie. He told journos to stop asking him about it because it was highly unlikely - but he implied you never say never. I felt at the time that he didn't think Stef would play again but that the door was slightly ajar.

Perhaps his training session Saturday, no soreness and a week off next week has helped his chances.
Had we had the pre-finals bye, and made top 4 - I reckon Stef would have played week 1 of the finals. Would feel horrible for Young Lewis if he is dropped after taking a battering as the sacrificial lamb for the last few weeks.....

That completely fuc*s our best structure
Even if Young does bugger all and gets beaten, having him in the side does give us the structure we need. English looks to much more comfortable as the second ruck even if he still has to ruck 50-60% of the game.

Going in with English as our only ruck is complete madness but even I think Bevo won’t do this in a prelim.

Let's face it, bont will be named regardless and be given up till sat night to make a call.

Martin may also be named but no certainty of playing.

Alex Keath potential hamstring concern according to sam Edmund..
