Say what now??
He is actually quite quick.
32.9km/h v Melbourne, round 16 last year.....I dont expect that he has lost that much pace in the last 9 months or so....
And a 2.92 20m in his draft year.

Of all the knocks that get brought up on him, the only one that is legitimate is that he doesn't get enough ball. Then again, none of our HFF ever seem to get the ball except when we smash teams. When we do that, we see more of Mitch too. What are the odds?

But the most staggering thing with him and several other players that cop it week to week, is that he has played 28 games. I always said if you haven't won a brownlow before 30 games - delist!

He had 5 kicks on the weekend I believe. 3 of them I think were sublime kicks to a leading player and I think they all lead to goals.
So yeah, drop the guy who is actually showing the same forward entries that this board has been crying out for for years. Makes sense :)
Imagine what could happen if he got 7 kicks ;)
I'd play him on a wing...

While I understand them sending Pearce to peel to play first, but given the Bye and no Ryan, I’d bring him straight in. If he’s fit, he’s fit.

what id like
In - Western Switta Pearce Cerra
Out - Shultz Watson Freddy Crowden
Sub - Blakely

what I think will happen
In - Switta & Cerra
Out - Freddy & Crowden

Has the forward line changed since 2016?
Sure you see it now and again, with accurate passing but in general we bomb it long.
The good teams put the ball into space that demands the forward
to run on to it.
Or the forwards direct the ball carrier to where they want.
Switch wings to unsettle the defence.
With the new rules, speed to get the ball in, two leading forwards
with different leads is impossible to double team both.
Whatever the Demons have done
off the field we need to emulate them.

And that describes Crowden's game on the weekend to a tee :)
Hence why I dont understand the calls here to drop him....
Simply based on his 3 almost perfect kicks to our forwards is encouragement enough for me to want to keep him in!

Not specifically Crowden related, but I hope we get to a stage where we are bringing in players when they have developed to a level capable of sustaining afl standard. Or where we only have a couple gaining higher level experience.

We need more smarter players/play,we are either too short, or always a tall short.
If Sturt was available?
A player that can do both is ideal.
Lobb isn’t a contested mark, he needs space.
That leaves Tabs, so we are predictable.

Yea... no idea why we've held onto that Mundy guy so long :)

I think we need Western and his speed in. Switta and Cerra will both come in.

I also think we need Fyfe to play forward again with Treacy not flying over, and Cerra coming in. Think Henry needs a few games to build (will pay off plenty in the long run). Walters isn't going to be dropped. Colyer is our best half forward atm.

Freddy is a forced out. I don't see how you can get the balance right unless both Schultz and Crowden make way as well. Nothing against either of them I just think we need to give Henry and Western an opportunity to get some AFL experience.

HF Switta ~ Fyfe ~ Colyer
F Walters ~ Taberner ~ Lobb
I/C Henry ~ Western

A forward line full of speed, contested marking power and versatility (ie Fyfe mid, Walters/Western/Switta mid/wing, Henry/Colyer wing).

Won't happen but if it does I will be impressed with the selectors.

Regardless of the ins this game will be bad for us.

Essendon by 57 points in a smashing. They are a pretty relentless team. All out attacking team will be too much for us.

If we can punish them on turnover while their team is running into attack and the field is wide open...

...wait, I get it.

We'll get pumped.

Essendon are 15th on the ladder and haven’t started favourite in any game prior to this one. This is highly winnable. In fact I am expecting a win and will be disappointed if we don’t get one.

That's the sort of reply i got when i said we'll get beaten by the freshly thrashed Eagles and the down and out blues (got the margin of 45 right too)

Essendon have been great this year and probably should have 5 or 6 wins.

This one will be hard viewing.

You also said we'd lose against Adelaide and Hawthorn. It's not hard to predict a loss and then act like you are a footy savant when it happens.

Don't remember many of you tipping a win over GWS?

Still heartbroken over the derby result? Such a surprise wasn't it...
I said the derby was a 50/50 game - and not to underestimate WC despite their injuries. I wanted us to win it (like every supporter should) and said the result would be how we responded after half time. We came out after half time and were crap so we got pumped. The really easy thing to do in any game is predict a loss (because nobody gives a shit about being wrong if they win).

Unlike you I haven't been bragging about how amazing I am at predicting outcomes. If I did then I'd expect someone on here to call me out on picking and choosing what I was right and wrong about.

I want nothing more than Freo to win every week. Unfortunately we're probably a bottom 6 team as it stands and obviously injuries doesn't help that.

Essendon have leapfrogged us this year and was just giving my prediction(also my form guide)

Yes they've won 2, but they've come close on many occasions when playing away.

I'd play him on a wing...
I'm guessing he doesn't have the tank for it or something as it is exactly what I thought. Lack of height isn't ideal on a wing but has the other attributes. He'd have to be the attacking winger as he isn't taking an intercept mark.

Essendon have lost three games with margins of a point, 2 points and 3 points. So they could have had 5 wins.

Which is where we also should be. It's even. A genuine 50-50 game.

I was disappointed to see that mutant Stringer go to Fyfe last year and do well against him. If that happens again (and I doubt it will), I will tip Nathan Fyfe to even the ledger. I will hope that he smashes the empty-headed buffoon. Just f^cking crumples him like a used tissue.

We really miss Luke Ryan. The game misses Luke Ryan. Football is poorer without him. I doubt we will without him but I am tipping Fremantle to unexpectedly get up. By 4 points.

Stringer is injured.
