Carlton are missing McKay, Walsh, Cerra, Kennedy, Silvagni, McGovern, Williams. Surely we go in confident. Curnow and Jack Martin are the only two we really need to keep quiet in the F50. We should be winning this by 5 goals.

Motlop is actually in a decent bit of form and kicking a couple each week, but otherwise spot on. Also the contrast between this board and the Saints board is amazing when it comes to pre-game discussion. Posts are generally sensible and reasonable, feels weird.

On that note, I'm incredibly scared of what Max Gawn is gonna do to our ruck/clearance game this weekend. I won't bother worrying about Petracca as it's just a given he's going to absolutely trash us as usual.

If your coaches have any sense they'll be having De Koning sprint forward and make Max and Grundy if he plays to chase him into the forward line, while Pittonet does the majority of the leg work around the ground. Hurting our rucks by kicking goals on them is something a few sides have done well.

Gawn will win the hitouts easily enough but doesn't always translate into clearances for us.

Think the game will come down to whether you can get us to waste the ball going forward as we are very prone to doing and if so, can you transition into scoring opportunities.

I think though, you still have too many match winners. We have a couple, literally. But as was the case last year, when the chips are down you have a half dozen that will make that play, that can turn that 25% chance into something, that can do what needs to be done. Gawn still the best player in the comp for me.

I’m comfortable as long as Petracca is forward much more with Oliver back. If we go back to Trac Oliver Viney at 70% CBA I’ll scream.
