Please he has played two games and if the club feels that he needs to be managed then don't risk him, don't list him as an emergency and take him completely off the selection table

What if he wasn't being risked though? He covered the most ground in our side both games. Think maybe the clubs knows the chances of an emergency being needed? Think maybe Knight was going a bit hard in his 2 games and the club want him to ease up a bit because it is a long season?

Well we will know who right about Knight, on Sat, if Pohokle, and Murthy play the SANFL game then the Club is correct. if one is missing the rumors about Knight having a hamstring will be correct until he plays next week.

Also Benny just about gave it away when he mention if someone goes down injured during the warm-ups then Knight will play on Sat night.

we are going aroung in circles

m view is if the club feels that a player needs to be managed you make the call to rest and manage the player and remove him completely out of selection

The melt is purely about an injury being described as management. Only an imbecile could suggest this a selection type melt.
Except this is another melt.

Poholke appears set to be the emergency held over for the AFL game as he isn't named in the SANFL team.

Assuming Knight is sore but not injured, they've determined that in the unlikely event two of our AFL named players withdraw, they'd rather play a sore Knight ahead of forcing Murphy to potentially not play at all this weekend.

Hampton appears cooked. Was his body this fragile at the Giants? I know he was injured a bit in his last season with them but he clocked up 50 games pretty quickly; I think he was the first (or one of) to reach 50 for GWS.

Ideally managed but hanging around in case of emergency?

Who cares if he's an emergency. If he's done a hammy and they're lying he'll be out a few weeks and it'll be obvious bullshit. Doesn't sound like a smoke screen anyone with a brain cell would authorise.

Yeah from memory he was quite injury prone.

In any case it's not his body preventing him from being an AFL player. It's also his ability. The injuries are just unfortunate. He will be delisted.

Injured again almost seals his fate imo. Going into a good draft with a larder of good picks... Typically Adelaide would hold him as some kind of mature depth but I can't see an injury prone, at best 18-22nd player in the 22, getting another run at it when we could load up on fresh talent.

Talia, Otten, Kelly, Doedee, Laird, Brown, Mackay, Milera. That's 8.

:'(:'(:'(

Which means one of three things:

1) Milera will go back to half forward.

I don't think we'd do this. Surely after 10 coaches votes we're not moving him.

2) Otten forward, Kelly/Doedee to take Harry McKay

Don't think we'd do this either. McKay too tall and with Fog in it would mean 5 tall forwards. Surely after Collingwood that isn't happening again.

3) Mackay to be trialled as a half forward.

Bullseye.

We'll exhaust every single possible option to keep this guy in the team. It is the club's No 1 priority. Makes sense of the ludicrous managed/injured/emergency story too.

Look... we just need to come up with a position for D-Mac. Seedsman, Atkins, Laird and Milera have been trading best-ons all season. So....? Knight and Poholke both have to go.

Why's Knight out?

Umm... form?

17 touches and 2 goals last week.

Injured?

No. He finished the game last week, D-Mac didn't.

Rested?

It's only his second game back. Soft game too, not exactly going to be an intense bruising encounter.

Look... just come up with something, ok? Anything. Just get rid of him.

The good news is that after half forward fails D-Mac only has extended chances as an inside mid and as a tagger to fail at before he might finally get squeezed out.

And this little half forward cameo gives him yet another role to be understudy to in case even the whiff of an injury pops up later.

There are question marks over any version of the truth.

Managed - why did he need to be managed after 2 games and why is he still an emergency?
Injured - why did the club lie again about injuries?
Dropped - why not just say he was dropped?

Strange stuff
Why is this strange? He had an interrupted pre- season and is coming off ankle surgery isnt’t he? The club is managing his body so he remains fit for the whole year - something many posters criticise the club for not doing enough of. If push comes to shove, I’m sure he could probably play, but the club would prefer if he didn’t. Plus, as has just been pointed out, Poholke isn’t named in the SANFL team so will likely be the emergency, and I’m sure they’re want Murphy to get a run so he’ll play in the twos.

I’m pretty sure there is no conspiracy.
