Talia, Otten, Kelly, Doedee, Laird, Brown, Mackay, Milera. That's 8.

:'(:'(:'(

Which means one of three things:

1) Milera will go back to half forward.

I don't think we'd do this. Surely after 10 coaches votes we're not moving him.

2) Otten forward, Kelly/Doedee to take Harry McKay

Don't think we'd do this either. McKay too tall and with Fog in it would mean 5 tall forwards. Surely after Collingwood that isn't happening again.

3) Mackay to be trialled as a half forward.

Bullseye.

We'll exhaust every single possible option to keep this guy in the team. It is the club's No 1 priority. Makes sense of the ludicrous managed/injured/emergency story too.

Look... we just need to come up with a position for D-Mac. Seedsman, Atkins, Laird and Milera have been trading best-ons all season. So....? Knight and Poholke both have to go.

Why's Knight out?

Umm... form?

17 touches and 2 goals last week.

Injured?

No. He finished the game last week, D-Mac didn't.

Rested?

It's only his second game back. Soft game too, not exactly going to be an intense bruising encounter.

Look... just come up with something, ok? Anything. Just get rid of him.

The good news is that after half forward fails D-Mac only has extended chances as an inside mid and as a tagger to fail at before he might finally get squeezed out.

And this little half forward cameo gives him yet another role to be understudy to in case even the whiff of an injury pops up later.

What continues to be amusing though is that despite starting on the pine 9/10 weeks that he's named on the field, Dmac starts on the pine. I cannot understand why this continues to happen. Is there a chance that our opponents have a strategy that is dependent upon whether Dmac starts on the field or the bench. It's nonsensical. It makes no sense other than being a constant piss take.

Why is this strange? He had an interrupted pre- season and is coming off ankle surgery isnt’t he? The club is managing his body so he remains fit for the whole year - something many posters criticise the club for not doing enough of. If push comes to shove, I’m sure he could probably play, but the club would prefer if he didn’t. Plus, as has just been pointed out, Poholke isn’t named in the SANFL team so will likely be the emergency, and I’m sure they’re want Murphy to get a run so he’ll play in the twos.

I’m pretty sure there is no conspiracy.
You don’t think it’s strange that he needs to have a week off after just 2 games? If he’s that fragile he’s not going to last on the list much longer.

All I wanted to see was The Fog in. Pumped to see him destroy a VFL-standard team.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. This is a game we certainly should win, at home, if everyone is switched on we should win well.

The Fog is yet to destroy a SANFL standard team yet playing in the SANFL.

Great to see him back in, and we all want to see him playing well. So far, all of the guys given opportunities have stepped up and that's a massive upside to our current injury woes.

I'm confident about Saturday, and we should win well. And I'm also confident that Pikey will prep the team well. But there's always the capacity in the AFL for a shock result. Would be devastated if that happened, but we should never ever chalk games up before we play them.

Both games Knight covered the most Km's of any Crows player coming off a restricted pre-season with an ankle, think people are just looking for an excuse to sling off at the club personally

Re Mackay and Drugs Are Bad Mackay? conspiracy theory (which I usually subscribe to) isn’t there the option that he simply rotated through half-back and a wing whenever any of Milera, Atkins and Seedsman have a rest?

That’s the role I have Milera playing in my ‘dream Grand Final team’ with Smith back in the side.

Yeah from memory he was quite injury prone.

In any case it's not his body preventing him from being an AFL player. It's also his ability. The injuries are just unfortunate. He will be delisted.

If there's anything preventing Curtly Hampton from becoming a regular at AFL level it certainly isn't ability. He has it in spades.

I understand completely that eventually clubs have to cut ties with guys that just can't get a clear run. Hampton may, or may not work out for us, but there's no denying his talent.

Carlton are playing Cam O'Shea over gun defender and no.1 pick Jacob Weitering
Clubs will be queuing up to make offers to Weitering you'd think. When is he contracted to?

Boy Jacob Weitering must be right out of favour with the shortarse Bolton for an aging Sam Rowe to get a gig in front of him. Talk about dumb by Bolton to jerk around one of the best KPD prospects in recent times playing him forward and then dropping him to the 2's.

Maybe he is expecting an absolute bloodbath and is saving him from another hammering to his confidence. Personally I think it’s the type of game where he could get some confidence back. Fogarty is still raw and Tex is out.

We should get in his ear. We have a great reputation for developing defenders.

Hampton's decision making is suspect to say the least

Half backline of O'Shea, Rowe & Mullett, with Weitering playing in the 2nds lol.

Perhaps the real reason they left out Weitering, Curnow & Marchbank is they couldn't risk our ex-Carlton boys getting in their ear & giving them some ideas. ;)

I've already posted around Tuesday that Dmac will be shuffled forward if he's fit and Kelly returns. Whether there's a pit stop in the wing rotation is the question. But he'll get every opportunity, that is certain. There's still a chance that Junior is pushed ahead of the ball, but surely we're not that dimented.
Not after last week no, the footy world saw how good he was finally.

The club has said through the week that they are going to make some changes in response to all these soft tissue injuries. They won’t get results overnight. If managing Knight is somehow related to this change then it’s a bloody great thing. I seriously doubt he has done his hamstring and they are not listing it. But if it’s some type of “awareness” thing they they previously ignored and are now acting on then that’s what we want. There was a problem and now we are rectifying it. Good stuff.

Or this has nothing to do with hamstrings even better.

I assume Sam Rowe is playing?

Could be interesting watching Fog against him. As a Lock down one on one defender Rowe is pretty dam good.

Jenkins might get him though.

Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Rowe to Jenkins purely on size, Jones to Fogarty or more likely Gov.
