I can’t see Logue being a KPP at either end regardless of his height. He moves more like a mid/utility for mine. Which isn’t a bad thing.

Some of the best KP players in the comp move like mid/utilities, particularly key defenders. That's the whole point and makes them such weapons and the best in the comp.

Sumich has come out and said we shouldn't debut Treacy in Rd 1.

So looks like debuting him is the best thing to do.

I agree with Suma. I dont reckon the kid is ready.

I would like to see Taberner supported by Fyfe and Hamling up front. Cox and Pearce to stay down back.

Also I reckon we should trial Chapman in the forward line for Peel early in the season. Kid could be anything.

My team updated after the injury news ( I love doing this sh!t)

Ryan-Cox-Hughes
Young-Pearce-Watson
Freddy-Mundy-Aish
Fyfe-Taberner-Tucker
Henry-Hamling-Schultz

Meek-Brayshaw-Serong

Cerra-Conca-Acres-Switta

Still a reasonable side IMO. We know what everyone will bring except for Hamling at FF. He could surprise - he is good enough. Walters is a big loss though.

Yep I like that except I would probably have Wilson in for Watson (if he's ready).

Cox has backed up ruck before?

Play Cox forward, he backs up Meek. Ryan comes in anyway for Lobb.

Bring in Wilson. Put Conca on Petracca in the middle and he can stay with him when he moves forward.

The answer to losing Lobb is already in the side. We don't need Pearce, Hamling and Cox in the backline, out of them Cox has the most swing ability.

The West
Josh Treacy ‘ready’, trio of smalls in contention for round one berth, says Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir

I'm sure May will play on match day after melbourne have their say, or the MCC members will make them pay, ok?

Captain Fyfe spent way too many years with conservative Rossy..stating "defenders must stay in defence and not swung fwd"

A big contributing factor to Adelaide winning in 97 was a defender going fwd and kicking 5. Malthouse threw Duigan fwd in a final and kicked 4.

It can catch out defences.

You mean the same coach who debuted Nyhuis as a forward?

Who debuted Brennan Cox as a forward?

Who played Griffin Logue and Alex Pearce up front?

Who played Taberner as a key back?

Cox forward? I know that it might be the best option.
But the guy is in the middle of developing into a seriously elite long term defender. His nous, movement and reading of the play is seriously impressive.
For a short term fix, I don't think that's worth messing with. I don't want his progress interrupted. He's our stand out defender after the first two scratchies.
Find another option, whatever it is!

Yeah I tend to agree. At present on exposed form he's our best (or at least most complete) tall defender. The second, third or fourth in line tall defenders are the ones that should get moved, not the best one.

But what if he’s the best forward we have on our list?
Surely when our issue has been scoring & we have other quality defenders on our list along with good defensive structures to help, we need to fix the thing that has cost us wins in the past.

Not trying to argue & initially had Pearce forward, but with Logue not far off & with Cox having the best exposed form forward of our defenders, I think he will end up there sooner rather than later.

But we haven't lost our best forward, our best forward is still there and we've lost a guy that has underperformed since he's been here but is structurally important as a back up ruckman. I guess I just don't get why replacing an underperformer suddenly means we need to mess with Cox when he's doing so well.
