In the mix, R15: Who's under the pump, pushing for selection?
Our reporters predict all the ins and outs ahead of round 15www.afl.com.au
One of his kicks travels c60m from 48m.
He's putting on some bulk.
His kicking approach lacks some fluency.
He didn't get a lot of competition but good to see him clunking overhead marks.
Somebody else must be picking up his man like the old days. Not sure Serong or Brayshaw would like that much. Probably need a sacrifice mid when Fyfe is in there.Honestly, watching Fyfe live against Richmond his lack of pace at the moment is an issue. If he doesnt win a clearance then we get ****ed and I assume opposition will make it a point to target more and more until he fully gets over that foot issue
The meme continues!Switta and Shooter on more shaky ground than Sturt to hold there spots

Sturt has one decent game which includes absolutely shanking two gettable shots and hes suddenly on less shaky ground then two of our best forwards because of a little down patch. The Banfield v Sturt discussion currently holds merit, but not those two!
Leaves us a bit light on for wingers with Aish and NOD out.I would think Nod, Banfield and Sturt will be dropped for Darcy, Erasmus and Frederick.

He's not saying Sturt is better than Schultz/Switta. It's a no brainer to select Sturt over Banfield, and then you look at Schultz/Switta's position separately. And the question should be asked if we should drop one for an extra midfielder (or Freddy if he is fit), so we aren't playing 4 x small forwards. No good team plays so many. Usually 2, and sometimes 3.
Having said that, I expect JL to do something like drop NOD and Sturt and replace them with Colyer and Freddy.
So basically it doesn't work. Our other guys can't handle the every week and big body scenario but Fyfe causes an overlap problem unless we have perfect conditions to win the ball.I believe the AFL clarified that a side can choose a final twenty two from their 26 named.
So name Tabs this afternoon...
I remember seeing Fyfe calling for O'Driscoll to cover his man on the weekend. Meanwhile O'Driscoll's opponent was then loose and got busy and all because Fyfe didn't win the contest back at the stoppage - which would be easier if Darcy was there.
So it is a tipping point issue.
Sturt wasn't ready though. If tou reward recent performance then Sturt plays over Banfield but it doesn't usually work that way.Sturt doesn't play tall. He is in competition with guys like Shultz. Just like Banfield is.
Its not a no brainer to pick Sturt over Banfield. Banfield has been selected by JL far more then Sturt has, and for good reason.
JL confirming today that Kuek is still some way off AFL footy.
With Darcy back, who comes out for Kuek? Treacy or amiss?Yeah, wouldn't want to just throw a kid in there and give him some freedom to have a crack.
Best model seems to be to keep stifling players.

3 goals in two games vs Switta, Schulz, Banfield’s combined total of 0. They deserve to be under the pump. The meme continues!

The only time we've been a good clearance side is when Jackson's in the middle playing as a mid. The rest of the time we've been woeful. Here's hoping Luke starts in the middle as a mid against Essendon.
