The rest of the year will continue to show who is up to it and who isn't so let them play and then cut them no mercy.

Not going to mention names but it's pretty clear who isn't gonna make it and all the excuses in the world don't cover the fact they ain't up to it.

We have far too many one dimensional small blokes in the team, and by the way having your main asset as manic pressure isn't good enough these days.

So keep playing them so it becomes apparent to all they are no good and then more kids in at years end or trade for talent
I'm guessing one of them is Jong - has admittedly been poor since the hand injury, but was going well before that.

Hrovat I'm not sure about either. But surely Dickson is back in your good books, being a close second in goalkicking?

Was that croftys last game? Was s good finale.

Think Morris has kicked 3 in career. One was 2006 v Brisbane in Brisbane. Anyone remember the other two (I cant) ?

First one was at the SCG in 06 (my first and only time there). Another one against the Tiges at Docklands and the other at Manuka v the Swans.

All I'm saying is stats don't tell the story of how well people are playing

Handballing to a player a meter away with a man standing next to him is not counted as a clanger but it is everyday.

Handball too fast or hard for recipient to handle isn't counted as a cleaner but it is.

And so on...

All I'm saying is we need to use these weeks to see how is and isn't up to it and then let's not be soft at years end, if they not gonna add to the future trade or release them.

And if I could ask Bev one question it would be why do certain players seem to get chance after chance and do zero(hrovat cough cough) when others actually show something and are in and out. The mind boggles how anyone could even contemplate picking Hrovat before Webb regardless of position Webb is far and away a better player

Hrovat plays out of position too often, imo he is a victim of having too many of the one sort, similar to Collingwood with Kennedy, Blair, Broomhead, Dwyer etc being constantly rotated around due to Elliot being the best out of them.

Hrovat's best position is out on the wing or in the guts where he can receive the ball and use it, but Wallis and Dahlhaus pushes him out of the guts and Dickson/Honeychurch/Hunter/Grant/Stevens etc on the outside and now we have the new kids in Dale and McLean who'll play similar roles. Matthew Wright from Adelaide is similar to Hrovat, played his best footy in midfield and (Wright) is one of the better short kicks in the comp but only has a spot in that team as a pressure type small fwd or tagger due to who's ahead of him.

Him and Hunter will end up being Bastinac types if the coaching panel can't find them positions they can settle in and play well in and currently I can't see that happening with Grant, Dickson and Honeychurch showing signs they can be adaptable in midfield and up forward and be effective in both roles where required.

I'd actually trade Hrovat or Hunter if we can get a KPF from it, say a Josh Walker etc.

Excellent summation, Go you pups you could probably add Caleb Daniel
into that group as well.

He hasn't debuted yet and probably same with Hamilton. But yes true, there's a lot of depth there now and I believe we have to make the hard call on 1-2 of that group (mainly Grant, Hrovat and Hunter for now) and try to improve deficiencies etc more pure speed and more talls to add to the group if we get compensated for if we cull 1 of these guys.

'I'm not going to mention names'
Next post mentions names.

Like a dog with a bone.
To be fair, my post was asking for it. The coach is seeing who can adapt and play well and who can't IMO. In a development year, if that means gifting games, then so be it. That said, the main beneficiary of gifted games was Cordy and he's seemingly out of favour.

Sad to see Crammers out but it means Dale gets to keep going which I like. Keep getting games into them I say. Very happy with that team. Talia not even an emergency though? Must be working on things in the twos.

The three first year guys playing again along with Hamling. Personally I probably would have had Dale playing for Footscray for a while (have loved what he has offered so far though). He will probably be sub imo.
Hope Honey comes back in next week, he definitely adds to this team.
