Dont think Headland and Mayne will play.

I'll say OUT - HEAD, PEARCE, BRADLEY and CAMPBELL/WALTERS

IN - GROVER, MCPHARLIN, JOHNSON and BALLANTYNE.

if dodd is to have a future, he needs to go to the shane parker school of football. punch and handball..... nothing more.... anything other than that is above his skill level

Every time we get posetion deep in defence, you see the opposition players peel off Dodd (and to the same extent Head) and man on man on most of the others leaving Dodd as the free man to either recieve the kick in, or run it out of defence. Why do you think that is?:o

bingo, they know he will turn it over 5/10 times so they dont need to pressurise him as much as others.... roger hayden on the other hand is always under the hammer

In:
McPharlin
Johnson
Ballantyne

Out:
Head
Other then Head i honestly think that every player deserves to keep there spot, Dodd is pretty borderline although he is very good when given a role and would be a good match up for steve Johnson IMO, Thorton had an average game but has been good before that game, only other guy who comes to mind is Campbell but should be given a good 5 games like Murphy and he didn't really have much of an opportunity on the weekend.

Foster has been decent and should keep his spot, Kepler showed signs of improvement and is probably a better ruck Pinch hitter then Johnson and both should keep their spot.

Mcpharlin will be a definite in.

Was walking completely fine tonight... and I'd probably suggest he could have played last week if he wanted too...

From Hase talking on channel 10 news i would say;

In: McPharlin, Grover, Johnson, Ballantyne.

Out: Campbell (inj), Head(omit), Thornton (omit), Bradley (omit)

So something like

B: Grover Tarrant Dodd
HB: Hill McPharlin Suban
C: Ibbotson Mundy Duffield
HF: Peake Pavlich Solomon
F: Ballantyne Johnson Walters
R: Sandilands Hasleby Schammer
I: De Boer Foster Pearce Broughton

Something like that anyway :)

would love to see this team line up, but i dont see thornton and bradley being dropped. knowing our selectors head will probably get another gig.

I have no problems with us playing all the duds, and taking all the young guys out for this game. Means 2 weeks off, and protects them from Mooney who will be looking to clock people I would imagine.

Na give the young guys a go against the best...it will show them where they need to get to. Mooney is a crab and no need to be scared of him (Grover can take him).

I agree with the side silverscope posted. Thornton would be unlucky and Campbell too if fit but Ballas deserves a go and Johnno and the other 2 big backman are needed more imo.

We will be competive with that team as there is more experience added to help the youngsters who went alright without it last game anyway.

Plus its the only positive for the year, so let the kids play.

I have heard there is some doubt about Johnson, but McPharlin, Ballantyne and Grover are expected to play.

I imagine it will look like..

IN: Ballantyne, Grover, McPharlin
OUT: Head, Foster, Kiwi

It's possible one of Walters/Pearce will be dropped instead of Head.

I may poke my eyes out with a sharpened object if that happens.

Surely Campbell must play....& hopefully McPharlin plays in defence....I don't like him up forward...dodgy kick on goal & just not a smart footy player in front half. I don't think Headland & Johnson will get up.

IN: Grover, McPharlin, Ballantyne
OUT: Head, Walters, Foster

I'd drop Thornton ahead of Foster or Walters but just can't bring myself to do it...The Galloping Albino has been very good in last 8 weeks...very surprisingly good actually, & though he certainly hasn't dominated games, he's provided run & more importantly kicked goals.

Has there been any news on Campbell's concussion? I wouldn't have thought it would still be a problem. If he is fit he should play, it's not like he exactly got a chance against Port.
Yeah I agree Chris, anyone know hoe bad Kiwi's head is?
It cant be any worse than Head SURELY!!!

Thornton has been playing foward for most of the year, Ballantyne in for him.

Bradley out as a backup ruckman if Johnson is Fit to play, no point having 2 backups in one game and Johnson is oh so much better :)

Hayden Ballantyne - Back tightness: Test
Ryan Crowley - Foot: Season
Roger Hayden - Leg: 4-5 Weeks
Des Headland - Quad: 1 Week
Michael Johnson - Ankle: 1-2 Weeks
Luke McPharlin - Hip: Test
Chris Mayne - Stress Fracture: 1 Week
Brock O'Brien - Quad: 4 Weeks
Rhys Palmer - Knee: Season

Looks like Grover, McPharlin and Ballantyne should all be ready for this week. While Headland and Johnson are probably another 1 or 2 weeks away. Also, no mention of Campbell on the injury list.

In: Grover, McPharlin, Ballantyne
Out: Head, Foster, Thornton (more than likely Walters though)

Now it's just a matter of working out who to drop for Hinkley.

:eek::eek: oh alright then;)

Perhaps:

B: Solomon, Grover, Suban
HB: Duffield , Tarrant , Pratt/ Hinkely
C: Hasleby, Ibbotson, Hill
HF: Thornton, Pavlich, Campbell
F: Ballentyne, McPharlin, Walters
Foll: Sandilands, Schammer, Mundy

I/C: Peake, Pearce, De Boer, Broughton

Kiwi has recovered nicely and is raring to go....
I'll be amazed if he gets dropped. Johnno isn't ready to come back, and McPharlin would be required down back to help out Grover and Tarrant. If we're going to be competitive we need to have all the heavy hitters playing on Geelong's forwards.

This would be more realistic, IMO:

B: Solomon, McPharlin, Suban
HB: Duffield , Tarrant , Grover
C: Hasleby, Ibbotson, Hill
HF: Thornton, Pavlich, Campbell
F: Ballentyne, Campbell, Walters/Hinkley (one is in, one is out)
Foll: Sandilands, Schammer, Mundy

I/C: Peake, Dodd, De Boer, Broughton
