I’d be reluctant to play Williams back after he has made the wing role his own and is very consistent there. I can understand that at times during games he has to go back, I just wouldn’t go into a game as that as plan A.

I still get flashbacks to that time he had 6 turnovers directly punished by goals. Hes become quite a good wing option, but still so inconsistent down back

In fairness we had a similar situation last season when we had to choose one of McNeil (temporarily banished after his round 1 performance) or Charlie Clark.

I was big in favour of debuting Clark as it felt like the situation called for it.

He was obviously not ready lol.

I think we can’t go Buss just because he hasn’t debuted - Buku and Gardner are both unexciting options, but known quantities.

If he’s earned it he’s earned it, let’s see what happens…

The 2021 GF killed him in that role. Had a really solid 21 prior to that.

I’d probably consider bringing in Buku AND Buss for JOD & Cleary. Buss is a good ball user and I wouldn’t say Cleary offers more run than him.

Pies have 3 tallish forwards and unless we plan on moving Williams to defence, we’re too short. If Freijah plays midfield, we don’t even have an adequate medium to play on Mihocek or Membrey.
