Settle. The Dangerfield comparison is pointless considering where they play. Shaw does have legitimate issues with his disposal. He also has real strengths to his game and I'll be surprised if he can't force his way back in, but it's not a guarantee at the moment.

Interesting that Sando said today they erred by playing Lyons too much up forward last week and not enough time in the middle where he did some good things. I reckon Sandos been reading this board. After some shaky decisions early in the season the match committee seems to be getting their shit together.

Doesn't Sando get DB to take notes from BF. He then gets him to bring the 'good ones' to the selection meeting and present BF ideas to help select the team each week

Not at all. Apart from shit first quarters our last two defeats weren't bad, if not for some momentum changing umpiring we probably would have rolled them both. This week and next are our last soft games before the bye. Our percentage is below all the other teams that will be scrapping to squeeze in the 8. We need to bulldoze them relentlessly.

I remember last year for some reason some people got nervous before our games against GWS. They are shit, they haven't won a game, they can't run out games, and their average losing margin is around 50 points.

How do we know what our best team is if we rarely drop fringe players and we don't bring dominant SANFL players into it?


We need to bring guys like Martin and Lyons in for extended runs to see if their output can exceed that of the incumbents.

Mackay shouldn't be dropped if he's playing 7/10 games every week - but he should be dropped if we think Martin could play an 8/10 game every week. But we rarely ever do that - we aren't ruthless.

I was referring to last year. You don't make unecessary changes when thing are going well. If it aint broke you don't fix it. We stuffed up most with selections in the finals playing unfit players. During the season I thought our selections overall were OK.

I agree with you for this year as we have had players down on form/too many passengers. I have been calling for Martin in for Mackay. Mackay is in our best-22, but needs to be dropped to find some form.

Normally I would agree, but in this game, we need more than 4 points.

We need to be with GWS in the 1st half (when they have performed well) & belt them in the 2nd half. We need a percentage confidence boosting win to kick start our season.

I think Bacc's point is that you don't "question" anything either.

You come out all guns blazing .......... about everything. FFS getting worked up over 25 on an extended bench on Sunday games? Why get up set about that.... unless your reaction to those 25 showed you up as a tool? They allow teams an extra day to settle on a side. (Plus the extra media debate it produces, the official broadcasters must love it)
