H is solid in the forward line. Nice kick for goal, and is surprisingly quick off the mark. However, he plays his best footy when he is getting possessions around the ground which is why he should play off a HFF and be able to go where he pleases. Work hard up and down the wings to provide both a marking target and a link up player when we run in waves.

Goldy should be playing 80% in the ruck because hamish's ruck work is very very average.

Play him as the CHF?

I'd rather drew play CHF and Edwards play FF.

I agree with you. Both players are better suited to those positions.

Hamish plays the roaming tall role.

I would actually like to see Milky included to play the second FF role, if the coach ever gets around to rewarding his VFL form.

Let Drew and Hamish get up the ground and play the CHF/2nd ruck role.

I must say I'm also not a fan of debutants starting as the sub. Give them some time to get a feel for the game, also means you're taking a risk on just how much impact they will have.

OTOH, if he's not in the best 21, I suppose you have your best side as long as possible.

Agree, McKenzie should have started on the field, poor decision.

He now won't have any time to adjust to the intensity.

Do fresh VFL footballers go at less intensity than AFL footballers after 80-90 minutes of football? Absurd rationale.

Sub is the right call at this point of his career. He's fortunate to be even getting a game.

Your joking right? there is a significant step up in intensity from vfl to afl level.

Probably a fair call, I reckon he was gifted this game as well, not that its a bad thing, but we dont really know how he is going to go at this stage.

If he plays well enough to hold his spot, then I would look to give him a full game next week.

Go back and read what I typed again.

A spanking fresh VFL footballer EASILY matches the onfield intensity of an AFL footballer that has played 80-90 minutes of football.

Think before you type.

I hope the kid has 40 disposals in a quarter, never misses a game again and wins the Brownlow Medal.

Wrong, they easily match the freshness of an afl player but in your first game it will take time to adjust to the increase level of intensity at afl level.

He trains with actual AFL footballers 5 days a week.

He plays against actual AFL footballers every weekend.

You are burying yourself under an avalanche of ignorance.

Oh dear, please don't tell me you think the intensity at training is the same level as the intensity at afl level during a game.

Nice throw, it's started already.

It looks as though they are finally going to give Drew some protection.
