just listened and it was after the game. pretty funny actually. he said that they didn't select grigg due to the need for speed. rowey than asked point blank whether he was dropped - "so you dropped mitch grigg last week". nobes then ummed and ahhed, maybe a bit of an injury, took him over and could have played. as it turns out, at least according to nobes, mitch grigg was clearly the travelling emergency!!!!

we told them so, but they wouldn't listen.
If that's the case, then he's clearly no certainty to be in the 22 this week. It's looking increasingly likely that Lynch <--> Martin could be the only change (and fair enough, given that most players performed very well indeed).

Out: Sloane (acting co-captain), Danger (acting co-captain), van Berlo (captain).
In: Sloane (captain), Danger

My intention is not to be a trolling smartarse, it's just I struggle to comprehend why this isn't already the case. Does Trigg have NVB's unremitting support? Is this co-captain stance a ploy to try and keep Danger?

Anyway, best of luck on the weekend. Hopefully on Monday you'll be 2 and 3.

Grigg has a future, but with regards to current team balance, he is fringe 22. I would keep Crouch junior ahead of Grigg, as he has more upside and offers more pressure and sets up play with the quick handball. When Thompson, Truck and Radar are gone next year, there is room for another plodder like Grigg pace wise, but with team balance at the moment, I think it is between Grigg and junior, and junior should have it.

I think Grigg should eventually replace Radar.... he looked very iffy against the Saints, made at least 4 errors i noted.... Grigg with his sweet left would be perfect reading the play out of defence and pay a Suckling-type roll setting up lots of play.

Grigg has to play in a half forward flank.

Beautiful shot at goal, very easily can find the ball and very safe hands.

Very disappointed if he doesn't play if he's fit.

Looks like over at the giants we will be without Shaw, Mummy and Josh hunt. All 3 mature age recruits. Add that to Whitfield and Davis and the odds are pretty highly in your favour

What's wrong with Shaw and Hunt?

The GWS Giants have suffered yet another injury setback with vice captain Heath Shaw set to miss the game against the Adelaide Crows this week with a minor hamstring injury.

The Giants will already be without ruckman Shane Mumford, who was ruled out earlier today for three to four weeks.

Vice-captain Heath Shaw will miss the GIANTS' match against Adelaide on Sunday due to a minor hamstring injury. Shaw suffered the injury in the loss to the Western Bulldogs at StarTrack Oval last weekend, but is expected to be available for the Round 6 match against the Gold Coast Suns. He’ll join ruckman Shane Mumford on the sidelines who’ll miss the next one to two games following a minor operation on his knee. Midfielder Will Hoskin-Elliott will undergo a fitness test after he suffered a cork in the first quarter against the Bulldogs. In better news for the GIANTS, midfielder Dylan Shiel is available to return to the line up following a quad injury that has sidelined the 21-year-old since Round 1. Midfielders Lachie Whitfield (foot), Rhys Palmer (hamstring), Sam Schulz (shoulder) and Tim Mohr (knee) remain on track to return to the field in the coming weeks. Co-captain Phil Davis continues to recover from a kidney injury suffered in the opening match of the season against the Swans. - See more at: http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/2014-04-16/shaw-to-miss-crows#sthash.JnbHfbTR.dpuf

I think Grigg remains well ahead of Matt Crouch in terms of exposed form and potential.

While Crouch has played well when he's had the chance, it's been 3 quarters when we were never really in the game against Sydney and a beat up against St Kilda. Grigg has been among our best against strong opponents like Port, and his kicking is far better. An unfortunate short term niggle shouldn't see Grigg booted down the pecking order.

Have to agree with Vader to some extent that 'shiny toyitis' exists.

Given that GWS have Mumford, Shaw and Hunt out and have an extremely inexperienced team I predict we'll see Grigg back and possibly CEY as well.

Perfect time to give Rutten and rest and give Reilly a run in the twos.

Glad it was clarified.

GWS are very physical. I would hope that Grigg is in the side for Martin.

In an ideal world it would be Lynch for Reilly, but we know that wont happen. I am finding it hard to suggest who else can come in for Lynch. Am hoping it is not Petrenko, as he played well last week and being dropped may be a backward step in terms of building his confidence and development after such a game.

Regardless of Ins and Outs, with their outs we have to win and win big.

This will be another 10+ goal thumping, could be that margin by half time... GWS are basically back to their side from last year with those outs.

Danger will explode

Adelaide will have extra motivation with Thommo's 250th. GWS have no chance.

Wish there more people on this board who weren't constantly negative............

With Shaw out as well as Mumford, there is no excuse for a big win at home here. They haven't won away from home and I can't see that changing here. It won't be 135 points like it was last year as they've improved but we should still win comfortably.

It won't be 135 points but it will be 136 ;)

Grigg must play every game when fit and play HFF/high midfield. Your best kicks have to be delivering to your forwards/clearing the zone from outside 50 when the 50 is locked down.

If you have surplus great kicks you can start putting them back but the priority has to be scoring not rebounding
